First follow up Post Op

Postby tiburonpup78 » Thu Jun 04, 2020 6:55 pm

Dear fellows,

I had my follow up yesterday with my surgeon here at UC San Deigo. The healthcare, service, and compassion at UCSD is the best I have experienced with healthcare in my life. Really fine people.

The doctor took a look at where I am healing and he said that I am doing great, no swelling and my body is responding well to the penile implant. The pain is lessened so much. I have an appointment one month from now and then they will inflate it and then I have daily management of inflating it for 10 minutes every day for a year. What he explained it that I received the AMS CX 700, and what they did was put an additional inch of the implant inside, so I will increase in length by one inch over a period of a year. I don't really understand how they add an inch but that he was explained, but if I don't do the daily exercises for a year, I will not gain the length. Right now it measures at 6 inches, so it will be a 7, which is about where it was before the injury. Where the bend was from the trauma is all straightened out as it remains partially inflated, but I am doing great men and I wanted to thank you for responding and your support, it may not seem like a lot but it really helped me with my emotional mental health after the surgery which seemed like the end of the world. One last thing, the doctor said yesterday this is the most painful surgery a human being can go through, I found that very shocking considering what other people endure with other health issues so that means if I can do this, I can do anything! Onward and Upward :)

Congratulations on a successful surgery. Keep the reports coming in, please. As Oldbeek said, your thread may be more appropriate (and get a more targeted audience) in the "Implants" sub-forum. Wherever it is, it will be encouraging for all men (implanted, considering implant or just needing information) suffering with E.D.

I am surprised. I suspect your surgeon was being sympathetic and supportive a bit beyond factual truth. I have heard that orthopedic surgery is the most painful and putting "an additional inch" is not something I have ever heard of any implant surgeon doing. A too-long inflatable implant, when inflated for rigidity, can kink or bend.

Of course, your surgeon examined you and measured you during surgery (on the inside of your penis) to ensure that no such kinking will happen. All I have is reading and my one experience. He has the training and experience of actually doing the surgery and interacting with patients.

I cycled my implant twice a day for 30 minutes (sometimes longer).

thanks for your post, yeah, I don't know about how they figured out how to add an inch but that is what they said and he is the implant expert here in San Diego. Nice man and UC San Diego is the finest healthcare I have ever received, so I am so grateful for their kindness and all the attention and gentle care I received at the hospital, from the nurses to the person who brought my lunch, which was some icecream :) Take care and I will update the recovery as I move onward and upward. :) take care

Yes definitely keep us updated. I want to know how much length you do gain.
I was bad at cycling at first due to so much soreness. Now it's easier and I hope to gain some of my lost length.

The “extra inch” may be a RTE.
AMS 700 CX 18cm. x 12mm. With 3cm. RTEs. 10/10/18
