Ok so you've found a drug to try. They also say they enhance blood flow once stimulated. I don't think my wife is interested enough to do much to help with that. If you get in bed and begin intimacy/foreplay, but then nothing happens, it's crushing for both parties.
Let's be honest, after 60 many of us aren't all that physically attractive even if you take good care of yourself. You can't really mention this to your significant other without crushing their spirit.
I mentioned having relations early in the morning when it's darker outside, or even putting up better curtains. At 4pm ( our typical time) you feel like you're under a spotlight. She wasn't on board with those steps.
Mentioned a couple glasses of wine like we commonly did back in our twenties -- spouse isn't interested in that and seems to feel we'd be doping ourselves up to compensate for diminished physical attractiveness.
So back to arousal --- look at sexy videos? Some studies suggest that can lead to a psychological problem where you can't respond to a real person.
Which then leads to masturbation and whether it's a good idea --- either to improve the chances of performance with your spouse, or simply as a last resort solution for satisfaction.

My wife and I like to watch porn together. It's good to get things started. As long as you're not watching and whacking to porn 2 or 3 times a day for a few years, you should be ok.

Well if the drug don't work, move on.
I went from Viagra to Trimix injections to Quadmix injections. Each one began to fail before moving forward. What I hated with any of them was the interruption to go inject, or needing to plan taking a pill.
Now that I'm comfortable with my implant and how it works I am very sad I put all those drugs into my body. Not to mention the pain associated with the injections.

Most doctors won't Rx. the implant until they have exhausted everything else so you are all good.

Yea I guess you're right. Never heard about implants until Quadmix was starting to fail me and came upon some research about ED. Really wish I had found FT then and not 5 months post.

Well you have what sounds like a healthy/progressive of view of this. I'm a long way from being ready for injections or an implant. Got a call with my doctor tomorrow and going to ask about switching to Cialis first.
I'm willing to try just about anything since I view our 40+ year marriage as extremely valuable, as well as physical intimacy being key to a healthy relationship. My wife is kind of a prude these days so not sure the porn is going to fly. I may ask. One thing I do know is that going solo, porn gets me off in under a minute --- zero problems.

My wife pretended to be a prude too but now we watch porn and I have purchased several toys. There is two strengths for Cialis... 5mg to be taken daily and the regular strength to be taken 30 minutes before sex.

Medically retired. Due to very bad back issues..multiple surgeries. Implanted pain infusion system on long term opiodal meds; hypogonadism and hypothyroid as a side effect from intrathecal pain infusion system. Use low dose generic V
Re: ED drugs require stimulation/arousal
What everybody seems to be avoiding is the bit about arousal. Everytime you read about ED meds they say " this won't get you erect on it's own, needs stimulation/arousal."
Let's get down to brass tacks. At 70, even if T levels are normal for your age, and maybe especially if you've been with the same partner for over 40 years, arousal doesn't just magically happen.
You may need some help, whether it's "self touching," "spousal assistance" or Hustler magazine.
