Post operative RP pain
Post operative RP pain
Had my surgery 10+ years ago and about 5-6 weeks after the surgery I started having pain in what felt like my rectum and the shaft and glans of my penis. Has anyone else had similar post op problems? The pain lasted 4-5 years. Recently began ED treatment and the injections have reawakened the pain. It feels like my Urethra has been bruised by the overly aggressive erections caused by the injections.

Re: Post operative RP pain
how are the erection quality and sensation with the injections? also, what kind of mix have you been injecting? if it's straight alprostadil, then there's a high chance of initial aching pains in the pelvic region.
24 y/o suffering from sudden onset of severe ED (from previously having no ED at all). perfectly normal penile doppler and blood/hormone/urine test results. UPDATE: diagnosed with tight pelvic floor dysfunction

David, welcome to the forum.
I don't have an answer to your questions. I've had an RP with subsequent nerve damage but I didn't experience that pain. However, with the nerve damage from the procedure anything is very possible.
The renewed erections are undoubtedly stretching things that are no longer used to being stretched so I can see it reawakening some old nerve pain. You might consider backing off on the dose a bit. I endeavor to inject enough to get "hard enough" and not much more. Hopefully the pain will resolve itself with time but you should certainly consult your doctor.
Some guys do get some ache or pain from alprostadil if that's an ingredient in your mix, but it doesn't generally display as you described. Again, consider backing off on your dose a bit.
Good luck.
