Newbie with questions

Postby Coach B » Mon Feb 18, 2013 8:58 am

I underwent a radical prostatectomy a little over a year ago. I am 56, reasonably good health with no other ailments. I have tried Staxxis, Cialis, LeVitra, and Viagra in combination and in various doses with absolutely no effect. I am currently using a vacuum pump with success, but with the usual drawbacks. My doctor, while sympathetic, is nowhere as near concerned as I am. He has written me a prescription for a dual mix injection. If this doesn't work, he is suggesting an implant. This is a terrible pun, but I'm up for anything. Also, my insurance-school teacher- pays for none of these, or the co-pay is very high. I still have incontinence but that could possibly my fault for not doing enough kegels. I am taking a new drug for this-Myrbetriq- which is running $124 a month. That'a a lot of Depends. posting.php?mode=post&f=3#
I am at a loss. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Coach, I recommend reading all you can about implants--I only wish that I had learned about them years ago. Instead, I relied mostly on injections, which worked most of the time but weren't entirely satisfactory. My implant surgery is scheduled for March 8, and I am traveling from Florida to New York so it can be done by one of the leading, high-volume implant surgeons. Many of the folks on this board have reported having surgery for incontinence at the same time as their implant surgery. Check this out--the advanced search function is very useful. Feel free to send me a PM if you have questions about my experience so far. I'll be posting more about my surgical experience.

Don't give up on trying injections.. It gave me back a sex life. Sounds really strange to be willing to stick a needle in your dick but what will be do to get an erection. I am also a retired teacher and like you insurance sucks!

Newbie, I have to take a quad-mix. It works for about 45 minutes at a time but is costly for someone who does not have insurance. My Uro and I am talking about an implant. I have heard from others in this group that they used a pump to stretch as much as they could before surgery. I am cut but have stretched so much that I appear to be uncut. I was almost a 7 in my younger days and hope to get as close as possible. Also when they do the surgery they can cut the muscle if you ask them to whitch can give you about an inch in length but you will need to keep it stretched so that when the muscle reattaches it wont pull it back. I dont know how they can build a penis from nothing for some but cant give you length when they do the surgery. Hope this helps in some way.

I have been using Trimix injections for over 2 years very successfully. Barring any venous leakage, it (or the Bimix) should do the same for you.
The great news is that I find it one of the least expensive drug per erection, but, as they say, "your mileage may vary".... i take a very small dose and it works nearly every time. At less than $1. per injection, my Trimix vials last over 6 months.

Don't sell injections short. They have been a restoration tool that I consider a wonder.

My ED is a result of diabetes. However, when even 150mg of Viagra no longer worked, I relied on a pump and constriction for over a year until I started Trimix injections. I still use an Osbon medium tension band on non Trimix days. I find that tight constriction works well for me in achieving and maintaining a hard erection. On the negative side, tight constriction causes your dick to begin to loose sensitivity after 10 minutes and by 20 minutes, it starts to go numb and the constriction needs to be removed in order to avoid problems.

Accordingly, if a twenty minute window with a hard erection sounds at all interesting, I highly recommend a medium tension Osbon constriction band. I have had experience with many cock rings, including silicone, rubber, neoprene, Beaded, and metal, but nothing compares to an Osbon.
