This is a video that explains how they do this procedure in detail: https://doctorpaduch.com/venous-leak-mra/ - I wonder if watching that will help you understand whether it fits the framework that you've laid out here?

Yes, I am quite impressed by what they are attempting to do here. This MR angiogram looks to be much more revealing that the other methods used. The discussion on that subset of patients presenting with a congenital idiopathic form of ED was very interesting and as I mentioned, it was speculated that they may have abnormal venous shunts emerging from the corpus cavernosum or the cavernosal arteries. The above angiogram did in fact reveal such issues in some of those patients due to its accuracy.
With such abnormalities, I could not see any other way to remedy other than surgical correction. This approach appears far more effective than other vein stripping techniques I have read about as this team is trying to resolve the issue at the source of the problem, rather than via a “work around” as previous venous stripping attempts to do, due to not being able to see the exact malfunction.

It was fascinating to see the abnormal venous shunt from one of the deep cavernosal arteries directly into one of the veins thus allowing the blood to escape as I described in my previous post. All of the examples they showed did in theory compromise the ability of the penis to trap blood effectively in the CC.
They do mention that long term evaluation is still required as this technique looks to be very new.
As this technique develops further, it could possibly save some young men from having to resort to an implant.
It was also very interesting to watch the focused surgical technique they were using to try and fix the issue!

Really thankful to have your informed insight here Simbarn. I'll report back once I have my visit with him, I'm probably going to go ahead and take him up on the dynamic MRA (and then decide whether I want to take the plunge and have the surgery)

Please do, I will be very interested to hear what they find in that MRA.

Have you had Stem Cell?
