Do I have Venous leak if I can get hard with ED drugs?

5mg of cialis can work from time to time.
I very, very rarely get morning wood.

I'm just concerned and scared and frustrated being only 29 and suffering this bullshit.
28 years old. VL symptoms. No morning wood for years.

It is a question that it depends on your venous leak grade, but it is posible that pills works on you if you are healthy and young. I have the same symptoms. One question: your ed situation started at yours 29 or is it something that you have been suffering from ever?

Short answer is "Yes, it is possible. ED drugs can overcome venous leak - if the venous leak is not too bad".

Understand how the typical (oral) ED drugs work. They relax the muscles that inhibit arterial flow. This arterial flow into your penis is what delivers the blood that inflates your erection (the corpus cavernosum inside the tunica albuginea). At the same time, the veins that drain your erection get constricted (I am unclear on the mechanism for that.) If the veins do not constrict enough, you have venous leakage that reduces your erection. If the leak is not too bad, the increased arterial flow induced by the oral medications can overwhelm the small leakage.

If the leakage gets worse, the increased arterial flow may not be enough to keep the erection.

On the other hand, getting hard with ED drugs does not mean for certain you have venous leakage. There are other possible causes for your symptoms. Best diagnosed by a urologist specializing in sexual function.

My ED started at 25 but I have been able to have sex off pills at times.
However, I've had to use pills the last 6 months.

This may help you understand more about a venous leak and how it can be caused, it is a post I did awhile back:

If your nocturnal erections seem to be diminishing I would definitely get some blood tests done to see if all your hormones and other tests are normal.
There are many things that need to be looked at to determine why this may be occurring.
See a men's sexual health specialist who will look at the whole picture, including such things as depression and anxiety. Unless a urologist has done extra training in men's sexual health, I find they do not look deep enough to find the real cause of many sexual dysfunctions. They can be good for some of the testing but in the end only offer a small range of solutions.
Age 57, ED issues for 15-20 years. Testosterone replacement with Enanthate and Ovidrel. Currently using generic Tadalafil 2.5mgs and Resveratrol daily.

Hormones are good. My test is actually really high, so I don't know anymore. It's just really frustrating. I just want to be a normal young man.

You need to make an appointment with a good urologist who deals with men's sexual function. You are too young to suffer with a maybe it'll work this time. Possibly a stronger medication or injections will help. Don't be shy talking to a doctor about it because they have seen it and heard it all before. Good Luck.

OP, have you looked into pelvic floor dysfunction as a possible cause for your ED? Especially considering this started for you after taking SSRI's - they have been known to trigger pelvic floor issues in a number of people (myself included).
29 years old. ED caused by CPPS/HF-like symptoms since coming off antidepressants in 2012. Taking Cialis 5mg every other day and undergoing pelvic floor physiotherapy.
