Hi Karen

Just FYI. My wife states that "size doesn't matter... as long as it's long" :)
Anyway if I were shorter than 6" I doubt she would be pleased as she seems to enjoy deep entering and when I told that I can lose some length with the surgery she started hesitating about its necessity. Currently I still can make her to the condition she cannot move after the sex... but I have to use the constriction ring which makes me virtually impossible to culminate. But seeing highly satisfied woman worth the price to pay.

Danny, did you have prostate cancer?
RP in 2012 because of prostate cancer. 100% ED, also some leakage problems.

Not really. I just have stupid venous leak so my erection will not last more than few seconds. Constriciton rings my only option at the moment.
I have not decided yet whether or not I will do the implant.

Danny,

You wrote; "Not really. I just have stupid venous leak so my erection will not last more than few seconds. Constriciton rings my only option at the moment.

Don't let me be a salesperson for an implant. I will say however that I lost nothing, had only minor discomfort, and would do it again without hesitation. I regret not having the implant done years earlier, but for a time injections worked for me. It also to time for me to realize that my options were limited and that the implants were good enough to be an option.

Satisfiy your doubts. Read the worst case scenarios here, the middle of the road scenarios, and the best case scenarios here. Then make up your mind and persue your choice. No guarantees from me except for one: There will be some unexpected twists in the path. Always are.

Hi Radiodec

Yes I am in the waiting list for the implant so when/if my term comes I will see whether or not go with that. One day I am in the mood of "I want it now" and sometimes it scares me to death about a possibility of having short insensitive "piece of wood". I am insensitive now too but at least I am long enough not to worry about deep enough penetration... My wife likes the position when she lies on her belly while I am lying on the top. And with the short dick that would be very difficult (if possible at all) to achieve...
Though the main reason for my hesitation is that my wife says that she is happy the way it is now with the ring. So leaving aside the possibility for me to cum during the action (right now I cannot due to numbness), I do not know what other benefits I will get. While the surgery has a rich set of articulated risks and problems...

For some of us maybe it is a combination of losses. The removal of my prostate caused me to lose one inch and the implant another three quarters of an inch. I was once an average approx six inches and now down to about four inches. I am a nudist and it does make me feel inferior sometimes. However, I do see some guys with only about one inch total and then I feel lucky.

I'm not sure where I am in all this, but by what mechanism does an RP cause a loss in length? Something besides atrophy from no use? :?:

When the prostate is removed the doctor cuts out about an inch or so of the length of your urethra. Depending on the persons particular anatomy, that lose of length will sometimes draw the penis tighter into the body. The total length of the penis is the same but the important part outside the body is shorter. Some urologists say it can't happen but myself, Andy and many others have lost lenght after RP surgery.

The portion removed is the size of the prostate itself. Generally, attachments and the like are moved forward a little to keep things about the same, but they often revert to the original position in time.

With a RP the cut your penis off your prostate and then your prostate off your bladder and then reattach the penis to the bladder. This is a simplification of the process but that is what is done. Been there, done that, got the scar. After time got an implant, lost no length to the implant, lost no girth to the implant. Having a great time. I would, however, recommend to anyone contemplating an implant that they think long and hard about the procedure. They should also thoroughly examine what they expect in the way of results.

I watched a PC animation of the DaVinci procedure before I had it done and it showed what you said, although they cut the urethra (not the penis! :() from the bottom of the prostate as they remove the gland, then stretch the urethra up and attach it directly to the bladder. I had always assumed that the urethra would compensate for that over time by either stretching out or growing -- as you mentioned.
