Can anyone share a personal success story on how diet and exercise helped restore their erections?
Of course I know there are other reasons to get fit. But this has been a lifelong struggle.
I am 66, but make it a point to continue to do phsysical labor, like cutting wood, because that is the only exercise I get motivated to do.
I eat food primarily made from scratch. My wife is interested in nutrition, so we eat fairly healthily.
But I should be 50 pounds lighter. I lost that much once and gained it back. A few times I lost 20 or 30 pounds and gained it back.
I don't respond to Richard Simmons type personalities very well.
I also am not motivated by denigrated for being lazy.
But maybe someone can offer me a new perspective that will get under my skin and cause me to make a vital change.
I know some people are able to take the bull by the horns and reinvent themselves. But I really don't know many that have done that. Probably the vast majority of people shuffle off into bad health until they die.
Did you successfully lose weight?
Re: Did you successfully lose weight?
Like you, I became overweight, mostly through not working out and drinking too much alcohol. The pandemic really helped me pack on the pounds. Pills stopped working about 8 years ago and had stopped my Androgel regime. Big mistake, but my supplier was in the Caribbean and he stopped selling.
Fast forward to September of 23 and started on Ozempic. I stopped drinking but didnt change anything else. I lost 35lb in 3 months.
I am still losing weight and have been able to get into some old Robert Graham shirts that were to small for me. Now they hang lose.
Now I am finding out more and more benefits of being on Ozempic, much lower stroke rates, less heart disease, fights against Alzheimers and other things. I love the stuff.
Also started back on Androgel at the same time I started the O.

Also started Trimix in Feb of 24. What a gas to have the best sex of my life at 67.

If anyone has any questions about Ozempic, feel free to private message me or I can answer on the open forum.

I'm 70 have lost about 15lbs so far and dropped my AC1 from 7.4 to 6.8 in the last 90 days ... side effects can be challenging but I think in the end it will be worth it.

All I can say is genetics can really play havoc on a person, I have used ozempic, good stuff for losing weight, I would recommend it. Then I couldn't get ozempic any longer and went on monjuro, I had to stop using monjuro 2weeks before my implant revision in June. For whatever reason it does not work for me after the surgery, I am going to go up in strength when I see my endocrinologist next week. Either way if you can get it do it, also I walk 3+miles every other day at a fast pace, and rowing machine the other days, it is hard to beat your gene pool but you have to fight it to win. Good luck and don't give up.

If you have type 2 diabetes, a Mounjaro prescription will be beneficial. If you do not have type 2 or type 1 diabetes, Zepbound will be helpful.
If Mounjaro or Zepbound is not covered by your insurance:
- For type 2 diabetes, an Ozempic prescription will aid in weight loss.
- If you do not have type 2 or type 1 diabetes, Wegovy will help with weight loss.
The FDA mandates different branding for weight loss indications versus type 2 diabetes.
Titrate the dose every 3 months all the way to the max under medical guidance.
These medications may cause gastrointestinal side effects, which typically improve as your body adjusts. These GI side effects can be managed by many using Miralax for constipation or Imodium for diarrhea.
These medications are valuable tools in the weight loss toolbox—not a cure-all, but highly effective in curbing appetite. They help patients enjoy the medical and social benefits of weight loss. There will of course be a very small percentage of patients who can't tolerate the GI side effects.
Some primary care physicians, all endocrinologists, and those board-certified in obesity medicine are accustomed to prescribing these medications and guiding patients effectively.

Thanks for the replies, fellows. I was wondering if anyone would say: "I lost X number of pounds, and that was all it took to get erections back". It doesn't seem like that has been the case with anyone. Losing weight just a very good idea for our health, and it sure wouldn't hurt the chances of an erection.

Shedding pounds won’t revive a dead car, but it can certainly help a running one perform better. For a dead car, though, different solutions are needed.
