I think the idea of Porn induced ED is extremely exaggerated.

Do you think you have ED due to looking at Porn ?

If so.....why do you think that ?

Maybe instead of porn CAUSING your ED, you were developing ED and the intense eroticism of porn allowed you to get a decent erection despite your worsening ED.

Now your ED is advanced enough (not caused by porn) that you require intense eroticism to get an erection.

The solution isn’t quitting porn. The solution is treating your ED.

Pills, cockrings. VED with a constriction ring, injections, and implant are the current treatment options.

Pursue whatever treatment you think is going to work, but remain open to the possibility that porn isn’t the cause of your ED, but a tool you were using to overcome it.

I don't see a linkage between porn and ED, but. I do theorize an indirect linkage between porn and anorgasmia. However, I think, FWIW, that the problem is not so much porn but aggressive masturbation that habituates your penis and brain into needing a certain type of sensation that can't be duplicated by a vagina or even a mouth. I actually believe porn can help with ED if it's used to get ready for sex but it's counterproductive if it's part of a masturbation routine.

We use porn to set the mood for intercourse and I watch it occasionally by myself. I think my wife generally just goes along with watching but has no special interest. Biggest issue is finding porn that's interest me. Since I have to use a VED with rings, porn does not affect my erections. At our ages, PIV positions are very limited and most of the time I have to finish myself with my wife's vibrator with or without the rings in place. Still glad to be able to do what I can do...

This isn’t what current studies are showing. The massive amount of dopamine released from watching porn and then the reward response from masturbation is unparalleled. I heard one urologist/therapist say it’s the highest dopamine release there is. Also the rise of ed among young men is also on the rise and this is a very likely cause. We all now basically have a porn store in our pockets. The access and content is more than it’s ever been. Your brain sees this and this is what it expects. It’s not reality. You don’t see the outtakes. The popping viagra like candy. The bottles of lube all over the set. It’s not reality but you’re training your brain to think that it is and then wonder why you’re having trouble having normal sex with your wife.
It’s becoming obvious this isn’t the place to have a dialog about this. It seems like everyone is just defending it. Sad. Because it’s a real problem and very few are addressing it because nobody seems willing to give up the drug.

This is not a thing. Quit being shamed by the mainstream.

Excellent comment!

I hate porn with a passion, I find it degrading and a complete waste of time. There are several articles from reputable sources that claim it may cause psychogenic ED.

It's undeniable that the brain is the #1 sex organ and dopamine plays a crucial part in sex. I don't know how porn affects the brain chemistry, but I'm pretty sure it's NOT good.
Age 40. Psychogenic ED for over 20 years. Current regimen: Udenafil 200 mg, oral phentolamine mesylate 40 mg, Seredyn.
