Doctor described this as “Low T”

Postby Baseballfan11 » Thu Sep 11, 2025 11:20 am

I’m 27, the doctor recently did lab work on me and said my testosterone was 283 (not sure the units) but that it’s on the lower end. I personally doubt that addressing this will fix my issue, as I had been prescribed Clomid in the past by a different doctor. Anyone have any sort of experience like this?
26 years old. USA. ED problem since teenage years. Doctor prescribed ED meds showing some efficacy but not a guarantee. As much as I’d like the implant I now think I should hold off if I’m seeing some results from pills

Yes, that's low. Take the actual synthetic testosterone and get up to 500-700. (Units are ng/dl, nanograms per deciliter)
Age 80 in 2025. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 30 min.

Interesting. I appreciate the reply. I thought 264 (or similar) was the cutoff? Which would put my number at the lower end of normal? (Hence my hesitation in thinking boosting my T would help at all)

Glad you started this baseball fan.
I had mine checked two weeks ago it’s at 365 nurse said it was good, I say no. If you have a range from 300 to 1100 365 is low. I will be discussing this with my uro on next visit.
There are a couple threads that touch on this briefly but I would like to hear a lot of different experiences, and what worked good for each one that’s dealt with this.

My total T was 310 when my Urologist agreed to put me on TRT. I have read and heard is that if you are in the 300’s and have low T symptoms, such as low libido and ED as an example, that is reason enough to start TRT.

However, I would recommend that you get more then just one blood test to confirm the low T condition before going on TRT.
Age 59, happily married over 39 years. T levels on the low end. Cialis (Tadalafil) was working great but not anymore. Now taking Vardenafil. Also use a Vacurect VED with a PosTVac Mach Ring as a backup.
