Female urologist?

Having to change urologists due to a move. Most qualified for a lot of my issues is a younger female. I’m trying to decide how comfortable I would feel being very candid w her. Also prob would be a tech, not her to do an injection for a Doppler, but idk how I’d feel about that. I’ve become much less “shy” about discussing sexual issues with Dr. I’ll bet we all have. I know it depends on the Dr. and on me, but your insight would be appreciated.

Had my implant done by a teaching hospital ..had issues they had not seen before ..each time i went for a follow up had anywhere from 3 people to 12 in the room with the dr both sexes ..taking photos trying to bend the implant ..after a visit or 2 nothing fazes me anymore u just sort of get used to it ..

My primary urologist is a male and his partner is female. I have had to see her several times when my regular wasn't available. I am pretty candid with her and I don't hold anything back. She has been great and is open to hear what I have to say and is very helpful. Its also advantageous to have her when discussing sex with my wife. Since my wife has a strong pelvic floor, extreme tightness and never had kids, she understands our situation on both sides. It all comes down to how comfortable you are with your provider. I don't care about whether they are male or female, a good doctor is a good doctor and a shitty one is a shitty one, doesn't matter what they have between their legs.

A friend always goes to a woman doctor because he says women listen better. Personally I try to see the best-qualified doctors, male or female. If my prostate has to be palpated or my genitals need to be handled, I prefer a woman as long as she's knowledgeable.

I haven't been to a female urologist, but the nurse who taught me how to inject Trimix, and then injected my first dose, was a young lady. I wasn't shy about standing there with no pants - I wanted to learn her expert technique. I have a middle-aged woman dermatologist. When I was trying to stop anorgasmia, we talked at some length about the special nerve endings on my glans while she examined every square millimeter of it in her hands. She was very professional, and I wasn't bothered or shy in the least - I wanted answers from an expert. (Didn't actually get any that day, though.)

Arb...currently have male specialist docs but my PCP is a female LPN. I definitely agree with others who were very shy about discussing male issues with both male and female medical professionals. Growing older and with more of a "don't give a shit" attitude, I've come to love my LPN because, YES, she listens better and seems to care more than past PCPs. If I had a female uro doc to choose from in the practice I'm with, I'd definitely be able to lay all my cards on the table with her. As with all my current docs/ nurses, UNDERSTANDING and COMPASSIONATE care is paramount! Period. To put it all in prospective, when I was diagnosed with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) last January, I sought out a urologist in a huge practice group (TPMG) my wife was seeing in Williamsburg. After several appointments and a horrific TURBT procedure with the guy who had the bedside manner of a silver-backed gorilla, I fired his ass and went with a new guy to the practice and have been 'happy' ever since. Some of the best qualified and award driven docs also come with shitty people skills! If the female doc is skilled AND listens AND is compassionate, she'd be a keeper in my book! Just my opinion...

I have a female urologist for years now. For the ed I have changed the doctors. And now, because of some changes there, i have also a female urologist for my ed. It is okay

My primary uro and implant surgeon is male. His nurse practitioner is a very experienced female registered nurse.
Post prostatectomy she removed my catheter. When pills failed to fix the resultant ED from the RP she taught me how to inject Trimix.
Post implant she assisted with the activation and sometimes does those herself. She has seen my dick both flaccid and erect on numerous occasions.
After implant surgery I had two very young female nurses unwrap my penis and remove the catheter.
Half of the OR team for both my prostatectomy and implant surgeries were female.
I would have no hesitation in seeing a female urologist.

Thanks all. Now have an appt w a younger female uro that I think is one of the best in my area. Will report after appt. Unfortunately it’s not until November. Hopefully she’ll do enough testing to arrive at a correct diagnosis of cause, then treatment that works better. Figure that’ll be Trimix. Prior guy just said arterial insufficiency and corpora-venous occlusive ed with no testing and here’s some pills. Worked great for quite awhile.

My fault for not being more knowledgeable. I am now.
