This is mainly addressed to the guys who have had a prostatectomy, are any of you guys finding it is taking you longer now to have an orgasm while having sex,i can masterbate and have an orgasm fairly quickly, but am finding it harder or difficult at times to have an orgasm during sex, just interested if any of you guys are having the same trouble or is it just me , looking forward to hear your replies.

Charlie,

Yes it takes longer since having the prostatectomy. But was also taking longer before it (but then I had enlarged prostate which also affected it and took longer to orgasm then too).

With trimix shots I think there is also reduced sensitivity due to the PGE-1.

For me I would say about 1 in 5 times I orgasm during intercourse -- all the rest are With Help -- mostly mine but her help is critical in getting Over The Top and gittin' it done.
My dear wife (and probably most women) have no qualms about finishing things off manually when things go on and on -- the alternative being us guys grunting away for hours trying to get over the hump. We're not 18 anymore ... and not 36 anymore .. and not 48 anymore !

Just sayin'

RP 2008 ... MUSE 2008-9 .. TriMix Gel 2009 .. Trimix 2009-2015 ... PGE-1 2016-2019 ..Misoprostal 2019 Onward. All worked.

Yes after the RRP I have found it very difficult to orgasm, I have been using the VED and seem to orgasm better with it than with the Trimix. I have only been using the trimix for a month but wife and I like it better than the VED. I too am able to orgasm fairly quickly jacking off. Sex now requires a lot of pre thought and lube as the trimix erections are fairly close to normal (before the surgery) but requires a great deal more stimulation now to cum than before the surgery. Just my thoughts.

Yep....although I have my prostate, I have the same problem. It started in my youth and got worse with every decade. I have not had an orgasm in my wife in about 2 or more years. But I can manually. However, at times even this may be difficult. Especially after the 4th or 5 orgasm of the day. :(

PCa did a number on me as well. It takes forever and sometimes it just does not happen. That is one reason I have not considered an implant. If I can't get off with pump or injection what difference would there be with an implant. Add adult beverages to the mix and it is not going to happen. Have found that self stimulation prior to intromission sometimes helps get over the edge. Hard to do but relaxing and not trying so hard sometimes helps. Trying different positions sometimes also makes a difference. For what it's worth what will stop me cold is a change in speed once I start have to continue to go fast if I slow down well that ends it.

I'm 67 and had RRP 3 1/2 years ago. I use a vacuum pump for erections, and my wife and I have intercourse twice a week. Unfortunately, I hardly ever have an orgasm, maybe 25% of the time I have one, but even then it is very weak and sometimes I'm not sure if I came or not.

I thought it was because the nerves were cut in the surgery, but I recently discovered that if I masturbate using a Fleshlight (artificial vagina) I can consistently have a strong orgasm, and it doesn't take all that long to get there. My wife had 5 kids, so her vagina is a pretty loose fit for me, although it was never a problem before my surgery. The Fleshlight on the other hand is nice and tight, and also the inside is ribbed, creating suction on the outstroke.

So now the problem is what to do. I would prefer to have my orgasms while making love to my wife. Also, she doesn't know I have this toy, or that I've been having great orgasms when she is out of the house. Is there any way to get a tighter fit in her? Any other suggestions?

Well, Philip, you are experiencing what I do--not being able to orgasm in my wife. I take Cialis and Levitra, both of which now work for me, but no matter how long I'm inside, still no orgasm. Maybe we will get some more helpful hints from our buddies on here who have conquered this challenge.

Philip,

Delayed ejac/orgasm seems to be a common denominator amoung many (most?) guys who deal with ED. Whether it's part and parcel of the ED itself or whether it's a side effect of the remedies we try is unknown. The literatuire I've seen suggests that decreased sensitivity is a side effect of both the problem (ED) and the solution--whether it be pills, pumps, lotions, potions, or injections.

You're certainly not alone in this. I'm not sure there is a solution per se, but a common thread among the guys here is that many of us are able to "finish up" using hand motions when good old fashioned sex fails to get us off even after an extended session of sweet lovemaking.

We'd all be happy to hear if you discover something.

Hey,

Im not entirely certain as to the whole ed thing causing a lack of sensitivity / delayed orgasm.

I thought that too, brought it upto my uro -- he went on to explain that he has patients with zero blood flow that have no issues, some actually with the exact opposite problem, premature ejaculation.

Since I brought this up, he went on to explain how its controlled by the brain mostly and spine. He got pretty technical, and I had no idea what he was going on about Haha.

Personally, I find if I havent had 'it' in a while I can manage it in 10 minutes inside my girl, 5 mins alone.

I truthfully dont know anything about any of these surgeries, I suffer from de a lot because quite frankly, I get down in the dumps about how I fractured my penis years ago... Its psychological in my case, any of you guys seen a therapist who specializes in these issues...?? Im sure type 2 diabetes can do some nerve damage there, but it might be worth trying the psychological approach.

Im seeing a Dr at a fertility clinic tomorrow, well, a therapist, that has written a couple books on orgasmic issues in men, apparently im very lucky that hes in the same area as I am -- I will happily share anything / everything, particularly if it works.
