Venous Leak: 31 years old

Hi All

First time poster and at my wits end

First noticed ED about 18 months ago when I stopped being able to maintain an erection for more than 30 secs without stimulation. Life has subsequently fallen apart and girlfriend has left me

Have gone to three renouned urologists who have all provided conflicting diagnoses

All prescribed daily cialis which definitely improves things but can be very hit and miss, sometimes wake up great, other times feels like my penis is dead when I wake up

Have completed 2 dopplers, first one I couldnt stay erect and was diagnosed with a venous leak, 1 month later i redid while on daily cialis and it showed no outflow and no leak


I have checked testosterone levels twice and both times they were healthy, however they never checked my free test, estriol or prolactin. My question is... is it possible to have venous leak due to testosterone issues ( ie hypergonadism) yet report normal levels of total testosterone? ( ie because of issues with estriol etc)

The reason i ask is because vl is usually a symtom of something and I am otherwise healthy.... furthermore I was on propecia for a number of years (with no side effects) and gave up 2 years ago. This is know to screw up your hormones

Any help or suggestions are massively appreciated

Are there any other treatments that can help? Electroshock therapy has been suggested by one of the docs

I will let some of the other guys on here answer your questions because I am sure there are members with the exact same issue. They would be better suited to answer you than me. I will say that I had lost interest in sex until I started taking testosterone injections.

May I suggest that you create a signature. It makes things much easier to answer your questions without asking a lot of questions. Here's how you do it
Click on your name in the top right corner and select "user control panel"

Then under the big letters "User Control Panel" there is a row of words... select "Profile"

Then down the left had side of the "User Control Panel" select "Edit Signature" (You might have Create Signature or something. I don't know exactly what you'll get because I already have a signature to edit)

Most guys put something like what I have, but you can put whatever you want. Here is mine -
"AMS 700 (18 + 2 rte's). Implanted March 30, 2017 by Dr. Brock of London, Ont, CANADA. Great surgeon. Went in to septic shock and had to have implant removed April 29, 2017. I'm from Belleville, Ontario, CANADA. Appt. for consult for second attempt is on November 6, 2017... I can't wait."

Don't get too carried away with the doctor like his name, address, phone number, etc (anything that looks like advertising for him).. you can certainly say Dr. Jones (great Dr.)

Welcome Friend,

ED can be a very complex fhysical, physiological, hormonal, mental issue unless there is a specific reason like injury or cancer.
A few times we "fail" to maintain erection or even satisfy our partner, performance anxiety kicks in and that can kill most future experiences.
1. Need to check free testosterone.
2. Do you have good morning erection you can maintain until you orgasm.
3. Can you induce erection with self stimulation to your satisfaction.
4. Are you in good health with normal weight?
5. Do you drink, take medications, smoke, smoke weed etc.
6. Are you really attracted to the girls you are having sex with?

After a certain age all these can be factors.
Gather and give us more info so we can help.

What are the numbers in your healthy T test? If your total T is around 600 then testosterone is probably not suspect #1. Make sure that your tests were taken bright and early in the morning.

perhaps your stories are similar, reach out to him, he's responsive and thorough.

Have you tried injection? Honestly, at our young age I can't believe doctors even let us use them, over a lifetime they will develop a lot of scar tissue and possibly fuck things up worse. Unfortunately, after 18 months I'd be highly skeptical that it will go back to normal. Venous leak can be trauma induced, do you feel any hard tissue in your penis, did the dopplers see any scar tissue?

Are you taking daily cialis? You should buy daily 5-10 mg cialis from an indian pharmacy online, very cheap and they're legit.

You have some soul searching to do. Your ED seems like it's sticking around and unfortunately there aren't a lot of treatments available. I'm right there with you, this fucking sucks.... I know the source of my issue but you don't so you have a few options:

1. pursue a third urologist opinion and try to uncover the cause of your VL with the hopes you can correct it and resume normalcy (many have been on this crusade, every so often I go see a new urologist Dr Curhan, Dr Lue, Dr Gelbard, Dr Rafjer), where are you? I would make that urologist a high volume implant urologist (kill two consultation birds with one stone). I'm not saying get an implant but it's definitely on the table for you given your post.

2. Accept that you have a VL and that urologists don't really have a solution for it other than: pills, injections, VED , and implant. Start eating pills daily, whatever you need for good erections, and continue with your life.

3. Accept the VL, reject pills, injections, VED , and go nuclear... implant. I know implants sound fucking gnarly but so does permanent ED, and we might both be facing that, likely at this point. The empirical data on implants is that they work and those with them are very satisfied. That might be because the people with them are generally post prostate surgery patients that are fairly old and lost a lot of function and are just happy to get it back but I've read a lot of good stories from young people. Again, I'm not saying you need an implant, I'm only saying that there is something at the end of the line. Don't live limp for too long!
