When I was hiding my viagra/cialis intake from my gf, she thought I had low testosterone.
I would not want to have sex as much. My libido was definitely impacted by my ED.
The thought process for me would go, well I haven't taken a pill recently enough so we can't have sex.
Or what's the point of trying if I can't get hard. Even stimulating her alone wouldn't help me get off and she always wants me to fuck her after playing with her.
I would never instigate, and even if I did, I wouldn't be confident about it. My gf could tell I was "trying too hard"
My movements were very rigid and she could feel my anxiety trying to perform.

She would do the wrong thing and just say "forget it" and turn away from me. Which reinforced the negative.
Why even try if she's going to want to give up on me?

So once I finally came clean and said, I'm taking these pills and now they aren't even working.
She was much more understanding. It hasn't improved our sexlife though because obviously there is still a physical problem that hasn't been resolved
Thankfully it gets resolved on Feb 6th. Then it's heal heal heal for a couple months and then we'll see where my confidence level is :)

I use Androgel every day to replace testosterone, and also take cabergoline for a brain tumor--both have boosted my libido enormously, and i go to the gym 3-4 times a week, which also helps...at 68, I am hornier than I have been in 20 years!!
68, married 37 years, tried pills, shots, shock treatment (also diet, exercise, tantra semen retention), now use testosterone gel with great results

My libido went WAY down. My doctor prescribed ANDROGEL which is like rubbing alcohol with the consistency of snot for treating low testosterone. You rub one pouch all over your upper front of your body. Then it gets all over your clothes, wipes off and the shit doesn't work anyway. The doctor then prescribed DELATESTRYL. I take this shot in my ass cheek every three weeks and WOW!!! this shit works great. I'm like a horney little rabbit now. :D

Larry10265- Did your Uro confirm you had low T prior to prescribing the testosterone therapy? Or in the alternative, did he just prescribe it? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but is it.
Retired. R.P. 2016. Bilateral nerve sparing surgery. Now use .15cc of Bimix twice weekly & anorgasmia, moderately incontinent. Wife no longer interested so go solo with Electro-stim using Erostek ET-312. Now am Type 2 diabetic.

He had blood work done before and said nothing, but when I asked for it, he prescribed it for me and then gave me a form for more blood work, so I really don't know.

I have always had a very high sex drive. I am 61 and my ED started at 30. I just got an implant several months ago. Even all the years I had trouble getting it up my drive never diminished. I often wished it had because it was frustrating not to be able to do what I wanted to. Now I am grateful my drive is still strong because the implant had finally given me back my ability to have sex as often as my wife and I want it. If she isn't in the mood, I jack off.

I hope you will find a good solution for your situation. It made a huge difference in my morale and self-esteem once I recovered from surgery and could resume a fulfilling sex life.

Thanks for your response. Just a few years ago I absolutely identified as a man with a high sex drive. But ever since I got to college and after my ED started, my libido just has never been the same. I really miss that high libido feeling where you crave sex.

The best analogy I can make is to imagine you are offered your absolute favorite food in the whole world, but you already ate and feel extremely full. Of course you know how much you enjoy that particular food, but you just aren't in the mood for it. That's pretty much how I feel about sex. I remember how awesome it is and how much I used to like it, but I rarely get that horny feeling like I used to. In my head I really want sex, but my body just doesn't respond to stimulation like it used to.

I think if I could get some good sexual experiences under my belt with the help of medications my libido could improve. Anyways, I'm glad things have worked out for you and I'm hopeful that things will get better for me someday.

That's EXACTLY the way I feel
26, french Canadian, signs of ED started few years back but been consistant for 1.5 Y. Still looking for the root cause, hoping my new Uro will

For me, my ED/ libido has been affected by several things. The usual of course, an advancing age. Then, there was life stressors and things like divorces. And the prostate radiation removal treatment. Heart problems preclude things like Viagra for me. And for me, a long running battle with depression. To combat the depression I take anti-depressants. Some of these knock libido down substantially. A few years ago, my psychiatrist and I stopped one of the anti-depressants that I did not need any longer. A welcome side effect of discontinuing that has been a strong return of the missing libido. Like an express train coming down the tracks!

To make a long story short, learning to use a vacuum pump, constriction rings, online erotic stories, erotic images, etc., have facilitated a happy return to sexual enjoyment. I have no partner at present, and simply enjoy lengthy edging masturbation sessions.

So yes, ED affected my libido, but in turn my low libido affected my ED. I think everybody on this site has had to figure out their path to deal with these problems. Do a lot of reading, experiment, and find what works for you. Best of luck!

After I started taking the T injection once a month my libido jumped right back to normal. I have had a libido like a teenager all my life. I had pussy almost every day my whole life. Then at about 70 the ED started, I started taking Viagra till about 75 then it took my climax away so switched to Tri-mix. It worked up until recently, now with help from the lady I can get it up but not hard enough for penetration. I have multiple partners so it is really stressful to never know what will happen when the time comes. Most women realize that at 77 years old it's to be expected in most men. I am still just as horny as ever, but can seldom complete the task.
I would get an implant tomorrow if I could but then I would have to try and explain to my wife that won't have sex with me anymore (15 years) why I want an implant that won't be used. I'm thinking about a six week vacation by myself and having it done.

I just told my wife, It is a man thing! I want my hard dick back and that is all there is to it. A physiologist could explain it to her but she wouldn't listen. My dad had an implant instead of watching his dick shrivel and shrink. Mom past away the next year suddenly from pancreatic cancer. He enjoyed his hard dick with several women for 20 years till he died at 87. He got the implant when they were still experimental. That takes guts.
