Questions about Pycnogenol and L-Arginine

Postby alterr » Tue Nov 28, 2017 11:01 am

Has anyone had stiff erections with a combo of pycnogenol and l-arginine? I got soft erections and want to know if this can help.

Whats the best forms to take it? Tablet or powder?

GNC is selling pyc for $40 which is costly. Where can I get them cheaply?
ED since 1996. Peyronies in 2012. PRP in 2013 and 2017. Dr. Brock, urology, NC, USA. Cialis and Viagra stopped working since 10/2017. Haven't been on Trimix since 3/2016. Will consider injecting it again. Will be prescribed testosterone injections soon.

I have found that the powder is far cheaper than tablets for both items. Also get generic French Maritime Pine Bark Extract instead of Pycnogenol, again far cheaper. Oh yes, I read that L-Citrulline is better than L-Arginine for absorption and beneficial effect (plenty of online articles on that).

There is a lot of clinically researched data to show that the combination of Pycnogenol (R), taken with L Arginine, helps with venous insufficiency and thus will get you quicker and harder erections, which will last longer. L Citrulline is in effect a precursor to arginine, and the body makes its own. I have taken these substances for some years and am happy to say I and my dick are both happy.

I am now 18 months after my prostatectomy. For some 9 months or so I have taken a combination of L-Citrulline and Maritime Pine Bark in powder form sourced from the UK, which is still expensive but not as much as the branded Pycnogenol. I get the impression that my penis is a little thicker, but no hard erections at all. Actually I stopped taking it about a month ago and I have not noticed ny real difference.

It says on the supplier's website that this will not help in cases of 'advanced atherosclerosis, where the small capillaries may be irreversibly damaged.' With or without it, I can't get more than a soft semi. I think that L-C and PBE might help to boost erections in cases of mild ed, but it doesn't work wonders for me, or for those with more than minimal ed.

Last year, I was using Pycnogenol to aid in my retinopathy issue and started using l-arginine (4g) in adVance of sex. It was my impression that as a result I was able to achieve a partial semi. I ran out of pycnogenol several months ago. This morning I tried 4g of l-arginine with no detectable effect. Today I ordered pycnogenol and will test again whe it arrives.

I recall reading a study recently that reported that 8 individuals were given three 3g capsules of l-arginine a day for two months and a second group of eight were given placebos. Six of the guys on l-arginine reported good results with erections while none of the guys on placebos reported positive results.

There are studies showing beneficial results from combinations of L-Citrulline and L-Arginine as well as pycnogenol and L-Arginine:

The studies referenced do not report on the firmness of the erections

One important thing to remember is that the supplements used in these trials are provided by clinical pharmacies. In the US and many other countries, supplements are very poorly regulated, so you have no idea what you are really getting.
