As my title states, I am booked for 3 more ED educational events before years end with doctors in 3 local cities. I have my presentation fine tuned to try and give men who are suffering through ED hope for an ultimate solution. My ED issues began with a surgery, about #12 of an eventual 18. The onset was immediate after recovery from the surgery although at the time I never considered the surgery as the culprit. While it wasn't a prostate surgery, it was in the vicinity with the removal of my sigmoid colon. That gives me a relatability to guys who have ED from a RP. I never learned that the surgery caused my ED until my implant urologist looked at my surgical history and informed me a high percentage of men who have a sigmoid colectomy end up with untreatable ED. The surgeon who did that procedure never told me this could be an outcome.
I often see many heads nodding in agreement when I talk about the downward spiral I went into after the first few episodes of having total ED thrust into my life. I'll never forget at the last seminar when I told this part of my story a woman sitting next to her husband wrapped her arm around him. She was the first woman ever to ask my wife during the Q&A afterwards about the quality of our sex life now. My wife's response was "it isn't the same as when I was 19 and he was 26, but it's really very nice now". The woman and her husband both smiled. I tell about how at age 58 I closed down my sign business and retired to a life of oversleeping every day and then getting up and lying horizontally on the couch all day watching tv. I was entirely out of hope and motivation. Usually at this point you can hear a pin drop in the room.
When I wrap it up by saying I've been saved from a deathbed twice by surgeons but consider my implant to be the greatest medical miracle of my life I have everyone in the room convinced the implant was a life changing event for my wife and me. I just learned a few minutes ago from a phone call from the last doctor's seminar that "a number of appointment cards were turned in at the end of my talk". Nothing could be more gratifying than to know I'm presenting a message of hope. I've also had two phone calls recently from guys who got an implant after one of my presentations. They were concerned about recovery issues and I shared my experience, always careful to tell them to contact their doctor if their concerns became overwhelming. I steadfastly avoid giving medical advice because that is solely the realm of the doctor involved.
If any of you are interested in doing the same thing I am I suggest you contact your implant doctor and ask them to have your implant manufacturer get in touch with you. From what I gather, I got selected because there was currently a vacancy in my geographical area. You might be as fortunate as I was. My manufacturer provided me training materials and guidelines for my presentation I follow to the letter. I do a roughly 10 minute talk to close out the seminar and often have one on one questions from attendees. It's a highly gratifying experience each time to be the face of successful ED treatment.

Re: 3 More Seminars Left This Year
I have just a little over two hours until I leave for the next seminar in a nearby city. I've already got butterflies in the belly. I actually LIKE public speaking but always get a touch of nausea just before it's to happen. These next few hours are going to be the only part about this I dislike. I try to remember homilies like "nervousness is the penalty you pay for being a racehorse instead of a cow", but it actually helps little. The funny thing is, after all this anxiety I always seem to do a great job. The last surgeon's seminar I attended told my rep he really liked my presentation. The weird part of it is after I finish one I'm so relieved I think I could actually stand in for the President and deliver the State of the Union address. Oh well, I just wanted to vent a little about how this isn't all that easy to do!

Re: 3 More Seminars Left This Year
I have so much respect for you boys doing this. Public speaking is hard for most of us in the beginning, to do it about something so sensitive.....respect.
I wish we had this in the UK. I would certainly go along to ask sooooo many questions.
If I go through with the implant I'm going to start this.

"something so sensitive"...EXACTLY! You hit the nail on the head. The first seminar I went to there were only a couple women there. The last one it seemed like every guy had his spouse with him. It's a delicate dance to talk about your newfound sexual capability without offending anyone's sensibilities. The whole place has such an air of seriousness and solemnity. I've come up with a few jokes to lighten it up but my wife always says "that's more of a guy joke, you're not saying that". If it weren't for the fact that she's usually right I'd give one a shot. Anything to lighten it up a bit. Oh well, as I said, what I've been doing has been well received so I'll stick to the script.

Re: 3 More Seminars Left This Year
Here's a report on my seminar last night. First off, I was at an extreme disadvantage because of recovering from a head cold that still had my ears stopped up. I could barely hear anything and had a constant ringing in my head. Also, before I got to speak there were a TON of questions for the doctor about implants. That never happened before. I was afraid I wouldn't have much left to say. My wife brought the house down with two comments she made. She interrupted me after I mentioned the six week wait to be cleared for sex and said "it was the longest six weeks of his life". She got a lot of laughs with her comment about having to buy a pair of quality running shoes after the six weeks was up. As usual, I got a lot of affirmative nods when I was talking about the mental number ED cast into my life. I talked about how I retired from my business at age 58 because I was totally out of motivation to do anything and had no self esteem left. There was a statistic up on the screen behind me of the fact that 98% of guys with an implant are extremely satisfied with it. I said "sadly, I'm not in that group. I'm more like at 110% happy with mine". Having my wife there smiling through my story adds an incredible amount of veracity to what I'm saying. The report I got back was that the doctor was very pleased with my presentation. Judging from all the interest shown in implants at this event, more obvious than at other seminars, I'm guessing the doctor will end up booking several procedures. My next event is this coming Monday.

Re: 3 More Seminars Left This Year
The good news is I can hear just fine again. Turns out after a visit to my doctor I had impacted ear wax, lots of it. A nurse blasted my ears with a solution while I held a cup to the side of my head. What came out was positively gross. I was embarrassed until she told me they have one or two people a week needing this procedure done.
I have another seminar tonight already and as usual, my nervousness is taking center stage again today. I'm trying to hand letter a few interior decor signs I sell at craft fairs but my hands are trembling noticeably. You'd think by now I'd be over this. Every presentation I've done has come off just fine and the doctors have all been very pleased with my participation. I once read that President John F. Kennedy never got stage fright no matter the size of the crowd he was addressing. I'd love to be like that! I'll feel slightly nauseous for the hour before I speak. Then, after it's over, I'd be capable of addressing an assembly of thousands like Trump's rallies.
I'm steadfastly committed to doing everything in my power to make implants as accepted as normal as Viagra now is. You never hear late night comedians joking about it anymore and there is even a Viagra Nascar racing team. I hope someday to be on a tv show talking about it someday. Heck already today I've discussed it with two guys I know, one an old friend who had a radical prostatectomy about a year ago. I think the more all of us do who are implanted to share our stories with everyone we know the sooner this acceptance will happen. I don't believe it's anything to hide. It was a solution to a problem that affected my self esteem to a very high degree and caused me to close my business and retire at age 58 because I was no longer motivated. In the year and three months since I was implanted my wife and I have started another business and our lives together have improved dramatically.
Oh well, thanks for listening to me vent about my stage fright!

When I was working on the road, as a paramedic, I used to have that done at least once a year. I hear that it is common for healthcare workers. Apparently we ooze wax all the time and don't realize it. Because I was sticking the stereoscope in my ears a hundred times a day, I am pushing the wax back in and eventually it gets impacted. You're right it is gross and STINK... wow. Double gross.

Re: 3 More Seminars Left This Year
I just wanted to mention this feedback I got at the end of a recent seminar. I had a guy come up to me wearing a Desert Storm hat. He said "I've been in two wars but I'd never be brave enough to do what you just did"! I was flabbergasted. I'm not getting shot at when I'm speaking at these events and I don't have to wonder if there's any improvised explosives under the floor where I might step. I have a hard time grasping that guys have a reluctance to talk about having an implant. Women bravely walk around in revealing tops showing off breast enhancement surgery. It's commonly accepted and few people have opinions on it they'd openly express. Why can't male enhancement surgery be regarded the same way? Just my two cents today.

Re: 3 More Seminars Left This Year
Good post Dave. It’s true! Breast implants have been commonly accepted for 40 plus years. And women are proud of them! Women get implants because they want to look better in their own eyes and minds.....sometime to please their husbands or boyfriends.
The exception to that are the women who’ve survived breast cancer and had radical mastectomies and just want to look normal again.
Men on the other hand really can’t show off their penis. Men get their implants because their penis stopped working! Men have historically been to macho to admit they can’t get an erection and have suffered with ED even after trying all of the non invasive methods to fix the issue. Also, I have to put a lot of blame on general practitioner doctors. Many will just throw pills at the patient to fix the ED rather than looking for the cause! If pushed, the GP may refer you to a urologist, that’s a start! I think it’s important to know why the penis isn’t working, you need to know why in order to provide the best treatment recommendation. I think men are starting to realize it’s ok to talk about and seek out help.
Guys like you are at the forefront of this ED and implant information revolution and that’s a big deal. I was shocked at the numbers of men suffering from ED when I began investigating this because of my VL issue. It seems ED is almost epidemic and the “old age” disease is hitting younger and younger men!
Thanks for telling your story in seminars, you making a difference.

Diagnosed venous leak. Going with injections rather than implant for the time being.
