Hey MotothearRuiz,
I went through the same thing almost exactly. For a few months after my surgery my weenie was about 1/2 inch long. I could hardly pee over my balls. Anyway, in time it got back to 75% normal.
Continence. That got better and better and after about 2 months I was alot better but still leaked here and there....at 2 years it was way better. I would say now, 2 years and 3 months post surgery I am about 95% continent.
ED! yeah got it. pills didnt do anything for me for the first year. So about 8 months post op, I did some shots. I dont really like the shots because they give me a wierd boner -- maybe its too hard...whatever, it doesnt feel natural and is a little painful during sex. At about 1.5 to 2 years, pills work OK. I can get a useable erection from 60mg of sildenafil. sometimes I boost that will a tiny shot of Trimix and that combo works good (this is a dangerous combo so dont try it until you can make a good guess on how much trimix to use with pills).
I was 55 when I had my surgery and up until then I had never ever had a problem getting an erection..not even once...so post surgery has been a big deal. I'm pretty sure I think about the situation at least 4 or 5 times everyday. I can get a 50 -60% erection with no pills or nothing else -- but it takes alot of manual stimulation to get there. It really sucks to get this at any age, but in the 50s really sucks. I often think if I was going to have to have it, then after 65 would have been alot better. My wife is just one year younger, but she looks 20 years younger and just looks great and it really bugs me that I cant just do it whenever I want - or without all the prep I need.
You could try what I have done and go to a urologist who specializes in ED. the one I go to doesnt take insurance and its $250 a month to go when ever you want (you can call and email too). I'm probably going to start CoreWave Therapy in the next couple of weeks. That is $3000 for eight treatments.
Good Luck,
Jake

59. ED from prostate removal surgery in 2018. Low doses of Trimix worked fine but usually gave a painful erection. Sildenafil - hit and miss but caused headaches for 8-12 hours. AMS-700CX 21 cm cylinder placed on 2-22-22.

Jake,
Do your homework before you plop down $3k...
https://www.practiceupdate.com/content/ ... tomy/96034
"revealed promising results in men with organic ED (primarily vasculogenic). Unfortunately, although many of the aforementioned studies have demonstrated statistically significant improvements in IIEF-5 scores, they have failed to demonstrated a clinically significant improvement (>4-point change in IIEF).1 Furthermore, the efficacy of LiESWT in men who develop ED following radical prostatectomy (RP) remains uncertain due to the exclusion of this group in almost all available clinical trials.1"
I looked at several sources and many stated the same- not good or no research for post-prostatectomy dudes

Buddy I’m so sorry your in this battle. I was 55 when I started I’m now just short of 69. I have the leaking problem. I can do fine all day but if I Happy Hr with drinks I am going to need a pad.
On the ED side. My Dr was not aggressive with getting me back in the game. He pushed the pump, what a wast of time and money, We tried the pills got a little success but not much but a little is better than none. Eventually moved to injections. That worked wonders then started to not work. Last Jan. I jumped into implant. I was scared out of my mine.
Can I tell you I did all the research. My implant was done in New Orleans and I did not have a single day of pain. There was some swelling for about 2 weeks. I wish I had done it years ago. I feel like a man again.
Good luck. If you have questions feel free to private message me.

Re: Post-prostatectomy- my experience and relative facts
I'm 53 today and had prostate removed 10 years ago. Yep, age 43. This journey has sucked for me but is better now.
1. I haven't had morning wood in 10 years. However, my dick does sometimes get about 50% hard on its own if I'm really arroused. Not hard enought to screw though.
2. Pills worked a short time.
3. Pumping worked but was unreliable. Sometimes my dick would go back down before i could screw.
4. Injections have helped a lot, but sometimes they don't work. Most of the time they do, but occasionally they don't.
5. Incontinence- I had big problems with that. I was using multiple pads per day and sometimes wetting my pants. Kegals helped but not enought and frankly was a pain to do. I had a bladder sling installed and it CHANGED MY LIFE. Now only use 1 pad per day. No accidents. I still leak a little but it isn't bad.
6. Leaking during sex. Big problem prior to the sling and still a problem after. However, what i do now is inject, then pump which makes my dick bigger, and put on a cock ring. The ring helps my dick stay more engorged and stops the leakage. And i can fuck my wife. The lack of spontaneity sux, but having a hard dick inside a wet pussy is good regardless.
Are things still frustrating? Do i long for the days when i got an instant hard on just from touching my wife? Yep. But I'm alive and cancer free and can still have sex.

Welcome to FT. Men here will be a good source of information and support for you as you navigate this chapter of your life. You don't have to bear the frustrations alone. FT is a great place to experience the full spectrum of treatment and recovery options. And, this board is about broken dicks and how men have repaired them, and what we have used them for after recovery.
I've just started on injections. I know from your introduction that they are not appealing to you, and I want to say that they are a temporary solution. They are not hard to do. They don't require surgery or removing any more parts. If done properly they don't damage or endanger our equipment. If one decides to stop them, there is no damage done. There are men on this forum who have been injecting for a decade or more. And I will own up to how the idea of sticking a needle in my dick took some careful consideration.
It sounds like you are still recovering. And it sounds like you have an ability to read and research options for treatment. Bless you for that.
I would say that one of the greatest forms of recovering from a broken dick is to remain healthy, become more healthy. Mentally and physically. Some of this can be challenging, some of this can be fun.

Hi MHR
Good to read your story ..... I'm 59 years old and in good shape. I'm now 5 years since i had my prostate removed ...
After trying injections initially - alprostadil etc... these days I've resorted to 5 mg's of taladifil/cialis every couple of days and using the Pump as the overall workable acceptance and compromise to future sex. My lovely girlfriend is patient and understanding and I can't bring myself to use the pump in front of her - and so its regular trips to the bathroom to pump up - 15 minute cycles to reach the big O. That's how life is now and I deeply mourn the sex I used to have along with the lack of spontaneity - its killing. But hey I have no cancer .. its a trade off. I still masterbate with a semi to keep my sanity. I hate to use stronger than 5mg's of cialis/taladifil as it give me big black eyes and makes me appear like i haven't slept in days. Have accepted this may not ever get any better. The pump is my friend and gives me something almost close to what I used to have. I read on Franktalk some time ago that they are trialling a cream you rub on your cock that my be the holy grail we are looking for ... ITs had good results and awaiting license apparently. MHR try and experiment with the above .. lets know how you go. Feel you're pain and thanking you for tome. cheers

Re: Post-prostatectomy- my experience and relative facts
Motorhead, I' knew I've been away from this site for awhile -- didn't realize it had been this long. I hit the magic 24-month post RP milestone last month (when the pecker is supposed to go BOING on it's own again....that didn't happen).
1. How long until you got control of the incontinence?
Peeing in my pants is a distant memory. I think I was fully continent in about 8 weeks. I firmly believe you must treat the bladder as a muscle. Push it to the max, often and frequently (as in, do not pee frequently). I drink coffee, water, beer, vodka ... every day. I pee about three times a day, and rarely at night after going to bed.
2. Did the pills work and when?
Yes and no. I have taken a 20mg Sildenafil every day for two years. Lately I have taken it at night to assist with nocturnal erections, which are more frequent and stronger. I think this regimen has helped me. The "challenge dose" of 100mg for intercourse was a big fail though.
3. Did pumping work and when?
No and never. I bought manual pump and all it brought me was frustration. After a few weeks of giving it a try during daily showers, it went on the shelf and gathers dust.
4. Did injections work and when?
Injections have been my salvation for achieving an erection. In May 2019 I asked my Urologist for an Rx for Trimix. I shoot up a couple times a week, and 90% of the time I have a solid erection lasting 30-60 minutes. Lately I have had a couple misfires, either hit a vein and/or my frozen syringes are losing efficacy. When I get a new 5ml prescription, I pre-load about 35 syringes (0.14ml each) and put them all in the freezer.
5. What else worked- electro-stimulation, voodoo dolls, pixie boner dust, etc.?
Stretching, pulling, stroking, caressing my penis every day, multiple times a day. Closing my eyes and envisioning foreplay with breasts and vaginas often results in a 90% hard-on. Use it or lose it. Get the blood to the tissue, whatever it takes!
6. Did you seek counseling; did it help?
I encourage counseling -- there's no professional therapists where I am located. My wife has been incredibly supportive, and essentially provides the mental outlet (as well as the physical inlet) I needed to keep a positive attitude and optimistic outlook.
If you need more detail, private message me.

I don't care for those who say, "It didn't work for me, THUS IT WON'T WORK FOR YOU." Not everything works or doesn't work for everyone whether it's been tested in a double-blind study or not.
Anecdotally, I spent about $3500 for 14 Acoustic Wave Therapy (Gainswave, etc.) sessions with absolutely no results. I did get a good air pump from it. If you decide to go through with it, I hope it works for you. I got more and more frustrated/disappointed/even angry as I went through all those sessions.
