Best of all things to you and your family. Not a good way to begin 2013, but with prayer, God's intervention, some excellent work by your doc, and you at the brides side, hey, this might just be your best year yet. Sure hope so.

First - thanks to all of you for all the support and encouragement. This site is so powerful because of the caring individuals who are members here. An amazing group I'm proud to call friends.
We had the appointment with the neurosurgeon last Thursday. We love this doctor (Max Kole), but I'm not so sure about those supporting him! Rewind - my wife was in the hospital after losing conciousness from a mini-stroke on 9-15 (coincidentally, that is our oldest daughter's birthday, the one who just passed away.) The hospital she was taken to had a knife happy neurosurgeon who tried to convince my wife that she needed surgery immediately to repair the 2 aneurysms in her head, claiming they were the cause of her mini-strokes. We said no thanks, we would see our own doc.
So we saw Dr. Kole in September. The aneurysms had not grown, were stable in shape, and presented about 1/2% risk of bleed. Conclusion, no surgery, relax and we'll monitor on a regular basis. In October, we were notified Dr. Kole had ordered another CT of her head. We thought that was odd, so my wife called and verified he had indeed requested another scan, even though there was one a month earlier. So she went for the scan ($550 out of pocket). The results came in, Dr. Kole's assistant called my wife on Dec 6th and informed her Dr. Kole wanted her to come in for a pre surgical appointment, the aneurysms had grown and were now operable. So we made the appointment for Jan 3rd. My wife was crying when she got the news, and had this (and our daughter's death) hanging over her over the holidays.
Dr. Kole isn't sure why he requested the added CT, someone must have asked for it. The aneurysms are only slightly larger than a year ago, still only present a 1/2% chance of bleed, and he still recommends just monitoring them on an annual basis. He apologized profusely, but this was all a false alarm, the situation has not changed, she won't be having brain surgery any time soon.
