Insurance problems

I am 55years old. After ten or more years of trying various ED drugs and shots,I was told I needed a penile implant. The impression I got from the doctor was that insurance would cover the cost as a medical necessity,so I continued to have the necessary tests, scheduling of surgery etc. My insurance changed from BCBS to Cigna in July I have insurance thru work. Today I found out even with a letter of medical necessity Cigna will not cover it. Any advice would be helpful. Does anyone know any plans that will cover this procedure. Thanks

Sometimes doctors' staff will go to bat for you, and if the insurance covers breast reconstruction surgery for women after a mastectomy, they will argue that it should cover your implant, too. I hope things work out for you, brother.
