To ALL,
My battle with prostate cancer started over 7 years ago. My radical prostatectomy took place on Valentine’s day 2005. YES! Valentine’s day.
Now it is Feb 2012 and on Monday 13 Feb this year I had an annual followup appointment with my Oncologist at which time he made the following statement based on my most recent full blood workup. (NOTE: PSA of Less then >0.01%)
Jim, I read your full file before this appointment and we have a decision to make now. I can do one of two things. We can schedule an appointment for next year or I can “Discharge you.”
Mixed into my story is some long term ED that we have worked thru to our sex life today which still exists and pleases us both again after we rescued it.
So keep on keep’on fella’s, there is good reason to fight and live.
Kind Regards, Jim

Jim,
What wonderful news! I like hearing success stories anyway, but I'm just starting my journey. I have a biopsy scheduled 2 weeks from today. Your success gives me confidence should the result be positive.

Jim:
My congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is life after PCa and treatment. Please enjoy your new "freedom" you have earned it. I am also 5+ yrs post-op and have decided to continue to see my Uro. I really like him and he was a great support and foundation for me. I thought he deserved an "easy" appointment once a year and we continue to catch up and talk about issues and what I still face- ED. He is also a PCa victim and fully understands our journey.
Life can be good and our new normal a new venture and an exciting next step.
Regards,
Dick

Jim,
GREAT NEWS!!!
Congratulations.
Tomorrow is the Eighth Anniversary of my Open Radical Prostatectomy and my PSA, thank God, remains undetectable.
Like Dick, I have developed a great relationship with my URO and continue to see him once a year.
Best of luck,
Bob
