What is the purpose of the measurement? I measured mine once as girth was a topic of conversation. I'm pretty girthy but I don't remember the measurement but I went mid point and was over 6". If you're doing it for some sort of before and after measurement I guess how doesn't matter as long as you are consistent in method. If you're wanting to compare to other dicks found in the wild I think mid point is the standard. If taking a measure for medical purposes, then ask the medical professional what method to use.

Guess it depends on WHY you are measuring.
If it's for some jewelry, piercing or something similar, measure at the appropriate place that the thing goes on.
If it's about the girth your partner feels, measure at the thickest since that's what they feel the most.
