Should there be a noticeable difference in the efficacy of ED meds from brand to brand?

For example, I've been using 20mg tadalafil (generic Cialis) from various (but seemingly reputable) online stores, but have found some work and some don't at all (either when I'm with someone or by myself). The trouble is there's no way to guarantee the brand as many of the online stores don't disclose which brand they'll be supplying. Shouldn't 20mg tadalafil be 20mg tadalafil? I also found that 4x5mg was more effective than 1x20mg, however, it does work out more expensive.

You need to figure out which pharmacy is selling you the good stuff and forget the others. Legitimate generic drugs should be of comparable efficacy to brand names.

In theory they all should be the same. In practice it is never like that.
I am a user of tadalafil and sidenafil and I am also a owner of production business of other generic drugs.
Slight variations in the molecule and big variations on the excipients can make a dramatic difference on how your body digests and uses otherwise identical compounds.
I have tried several brands of sidenafil and some work well, some dont work at all and one brand which I wont name worked too well and I had to break the tablet in 4.
I tested them on HPLC and they all had precise amount of API, but the efects were vastly different.
Find a brand that works and stick to it.

Hi, thanks for the replies, it would be great to know which brand to stick to, however, it would seem that (in the UK, at least), that online pharmacies will supply generic brands randomly, I.e. it will change from order to order.

I have used some of the tadalafil taruates they makes in some compounding pharmacies. They were not worth buying as they did not even work for me. It was like I was taking a piece of candy. I use nothing but the pill form now of the tadalafil. It should be the same unless it is made in a local compounding pharmacy. Just pay attention to where you get the stuff that works well for you and please let those folks know that the other suff you have gotten has not worked for you. That is usually the only way they will know that what they are dispending is not worth buying. It has been my experience that unless you inform the folks selling the bad stuff they wont know and will keep selling it. I think most folks are honest and want what they sell to work and help people. They wont know unless you let them know! I wish you the best of luck!

Yes, it makes a huge difference. I've tried several brands of different ED drugs (tadalafil, oral phentolamine) and their efficacy varies greatly. I know I'm going to get butchered for saying this but I don't trust generics and only buy meds from reputed pharma companies, even if it means paying a small fortune.

There really does seem to be a difference, even from legit retailers. I used to get a big boost from Cialis, but when Walgreens switched to generic it didn't seem to work as well. The I switched to some phamacy owned by the urology office and the generic Cialis there worked better. Might have to be a chemist to figure it all out.

Hmmm, thanks for the replies. I thought I would try a short experiment and took 20mg of generic Tadalafil four nights ago, then 10mg each evening since, but I still found that it wasn't working that well 20 hours after taking the 10mg... I'm pretty certain that the daily dose of 5mg, even if taken for an extended period, wouldn't work for me.

You might be on something as Cialis was working decent and its not working as good lately and I have been given generic by my pharmacy. Next time i will make sure to get genuine Cialis as there is not that much difference on cost in Canada.
Viagra is the same price as generic.

I am using 10 mg of generic Cialis per day and 50 mg of Viagra an hour or so before sex and its working very good this week.
