Night Sweats during Corona Crisis.

Hi,
I'm 73 years old, had prostate removed 6 years ago, and follow-up radiation 5.5 years ago.
Have had PSA checkups every 6 months since, with last one in Nov 2019 - all have been Non Detectable.
Had Implant Surgery in 2016(another long story but....).
I am 5ft 9" 175 lbs, generally fit and healthy and currently walking a mile or two around the countryside most days (keeping at least 6ft away at least of course), and have plenty of energy for my age.
My one problem is that over the past 2 months or so I have had a number of Night Sweats(only once per night when it happens).
They generally cover my upper body down to a sweaty crotch. At night I only wear a thin night shirt (nothing below the waist..).
Sometimes I wake up to a soaking shirt but often I will awake before it gets too bad (or maybe it won't)
Obviously concerned over Covid I took my temp last night when I woke up with a mild version and it was 96.2
I cooled down pretty quickly and slept fine for rest of the night.
During the day I always feel fine and strong with no fever!
Interestingly the first two were in EARLY Feb 2020 when on a cruise, but then two or three weeks went by before they started up again (YES I have been self quaranteening every since that cruise).
I see that Alcohol can cause the sweats and I'm willing to admit that the two on the cruise probably caused those, but I guarantee that was not last night's cause!
I also see that other causes could be Low Testosterone, Stress/Anxiety, or several others from good to bad!!
My URO is about 45 miles away, never mentioned Testosterone issues
My GP is about 28 miles away.
Under normal conditions I would probably go and get tested, but these are not normal times and we are supposed to stay at home...
Any Suggestions from anybody ??????
Thanks... Dave

I've always had night sweats. I soak my sheets and pillow several times a week. For me it is dream induced. Most of the time I remember my dreams and lately they've been more post apocalyptic in nature. Could be you are playing out your fears in your sleep... a sense of lack of control?

Night sweats can be caused by a number of conditions. Some psychological, but these are less likely than the physical (in my opinion) unless you have a history of psychological sleeping effects.

Check out this site I found by doing a web search

https://10faq.com/health/causes-of-nigh ... gJpSvD_BwE

There are many other sites that should be educational, as well.

Let us know what you find. You might even find a cause of E.D. among them that might help men avoid unnecessary medications/injections/surgeries. Be a hero to someone.

Are you diabetic? This happens to me when my blood sugar level is to high. In my case, it’s my body trying to lower the sugar levels in my body. Do you eat or drink anything 2-3 hours before bed? Sometimes blood sugar levels will rise as you are sleeping ( it’s called the dawn effect) even if you haven’t eaten or drink anything 2-3 hours before bed. If you have a glucose meter, check your levels next time this happens.

Thanks to the four of you.
NO I'm not diabetic (as per last annual checkup last summer)
ED since prostate removal
NO Change in Meds for long time which is what most of the 10 faqa are about
Rest need tests..
I dont have major dreams but I'm hoping the anxiety stress may be the cause.
Guess I'll just have to wait and see and see docs when things cleat up
Thanks again
Dave

I've been having night sweats lately too. Had a couple of months of it last year, doc put me through all kinds of tests which all came up good, no issues. They went away after those couple of months. After my implant surgery last Nov. they started again, some nights I'd soak two or three t-shirts. Those went away after a couple months, but then after being prescribed an anti-biotic about two months ago the sweats started again. I'm back to the point of not sweating for a couple of nights, then a night of sweating. Can't say if the medicine(s) are responsible, I take no daily pills and only Imitrex for migraines as needed. Or is it just a part of aging?

I haven't slept well lately, either.

We went through an earthquake recently and now this horrible coronavirus, I sometimes wake up at night. I feel anxious and depressed.

Update for anybody interested......
3 weeks ago I had a heavy wet sweat, so went to see GP on Apr 6th.
After answering NO to all her questions about other symptoms she decided on Blood work and Urine sample.
Happily all blood work came back fine, INCLUDING a PSA test.
SURPRISINGLY, on 8th she said that I had a mild UTI and put me on Cippro. I say surprised because I had not (and still haven't had) any pain, urgent need, or too frequent symptoms, but I went ahead with the 10 day(20 pills) regimen...
I also decided to take half a Sertriline with my 9pm Cippro in case I was having extra stress..
We also adjusted the AC to make the bedroom colder..

Not sure what caused it, but every single night I would awake between 2 and 2:30am, and not be able to go back to sleep for close to 2 hours.
Also when I did my early wake-up I felt sticky in places maybe as if I was about to have a night sweat but woke up to stop it.
A week into the pill taking I had an evening with severe sinus pain, so I took an Advil with the other two pills. As it happened I only had the PM version, so not surprisingly, I slept better than I had for a while - HOWEVER...
I woke up very briefly about 2:15am with full blown wet sweat !!

I completed pill taking a week ago, still not noticing any change in my pee'ing feelings or reactions, but a 2nd urine test last Monday returned negative!
I am sleeping a LOT better and have not had any of the severe sweats, but the room is still cold and I wonder every night if they will return !!
