I have not heard much discussion of the possibility that leakage of blood from the walls Tunica Albuginea (which would be very similar in effect to venous leakage -VL- draining the Tunica) might be the cause of Erectile Dysfunction (ED).

VL can sometimes be diagnosed by a doppler test/exam. Could Tunica Leakage be detected in the same way?

Has any urologist ever suggested this as a cause of anyone's ED? (I an thinking of things like penile fracture or tunica rupture not causing catastrophic ED or full impotence, but a very mild fracture simply causing chronic ED)

Very unlikely as any defect there will heal. But it most probably will compromise the elasticity of the tunica at the spot of the rupture which will lead to insufficient venal occlusion (I suppose of the emissary veins) resulting in new formation of veins leading to veno-occlusive dysfunction (aka venous leak).

Can you refer me to a good anatomy-of-the-penis site or diagram? I'm trying to make sense of all the spots to miss during an injection that I can't see on the surface and wondering how an injection on one side can affect the other side if they are separated. And how the head can swell from a cavernosa injection if it is fed separately. TIA, B

Following this logic, traumatic venous leakage can be cured with vein surgery. i.e. If the newly formed veins in the connective tissue that are leaking are isolated, the erection can be normalized.

Well, yes and no.

If there are isolated veins which do not have collaterals and the veins do leave on the dorsal upper end of the penis vein ligation is actually quite successfull.

But this requires good pre selection of the patients via pre operative imaging.

Lost sheep, I found this article to be very interesting on the topic of the dysfunction of the tunica albuginea; possibly being one cause of CVOD. Concentrating on structural changes in the layers of collagen.
