Absolutely. Caffeine is a powerful vasoconstrictor and it's not something you want to take before sex. I used to take a cup of coffee to counteract the side effects of Cialis.

When I first wake in the morning, my erections are very easy to maintain or it is very easy to get one when I am still half asleep.
When I get up and start moving around and have my first coffee in the morning I notice it is much more difficult to get an erection and to maintain one.
This I attribute to the increase in nor- epinephrine that coffee stimulates. I feel I am sensitive to this and especially so in the penis itself. This sensitivity in the penis to NA has been shown to increase as men age.
One of the reasons the penis becomes less responsive in older men.
