Doctors Not Helping.

Dear Friends, I have lost one inch of my erection length and most severe erectile dysfunction. My Doppler test suggests no venous leak. I visited one of the top urologists in my country, but he dismissed my concerns. My family doesn't believe me either.

Please, guys, give me some idea. What should I do? Which test should I consider to diagnose my condition? Is that some times the reason for ED can't be diagnosed?

It really doesn't matter if the urologist detects veinous leak or not in his Doppler test. If you can't achieve and maintain a satisfactory erection for sex, and the problem has been going on long enough to suggest that it's not a temporary issue, then you need to be treated. Have you tried pills like Viagra, Cialis? What about injections like Alprostadil?

Wolf Packer; Viagra/Cialis sometimes works but not most of the time. I once got the papaverine injection that worked for 15 minutes. If venous leak hasn't been found then what could be the problem?

The problem could be that your doctor was just unable to detect the veinous leak, could be that the nerves responsible for initiating the erection are damaged, could be hormone issue.

My point is that while it's fine to search for the source of the issue, you should also be looking at potential solutions. Pills, injections or the implant. Did you try an Alprostadil injection?

No, I didn't try Alprostadil injections.

You can proactively do two things to prevent further degradation of your penis size and health.

Regular erections (most men get erections during sleep, even if they don't have a sexual partner) keep the elasticity of the penile tissues and also flush healthy blood through the corpus cavernosum tissues.

Regular use of a Vacuum Erection Device (VED) can emulate those nocturnal erections and have been shown to prevent size loss and even restore some (recently) lost size.

I recommend a protocol of a 30 minute session twice a day. Inflate the penis (by applying vacuum) to a full erection, hold that level of vacuum for 30 to 60 seconds and release the vacuum, allowing the penis to become completely flaccid. Then repeat the cycle for 30 minutes. Do not apply vaccuum past a level of slight discomfort because too muc vacuum can cause damage to the penis.

Your family may not understand the need. (You suggested that they are skeptical.) I have little advice there beyond sitting down with each one individually and explaining everything. Not a comfortable conversation for either of the participants. There may be better advice from others here. Good luck.

Keep the conversation open with your doctor, or find another, perhaps a urologist who specializes in sexual function. Such a doctor will have more understanding than a General Practitioner or a Urologist who concentrates on the other functions of the urinary processes. Finding such a specialist might start with a consult with a sexual dysfunction counselor. It is sad that you would have to go to that expense, but you REALLY WANT to find a urologist who knows the sexual function well. Besides a counselor might have advice on how to address the situation with your family.
