Acoustic wave therapy

Obviously this doesn't apply to me, but it bothers me about all the hype this gets on TV in Phoenix.

I'd guess it could help one in 100 guys, but it bothers me that they can get guys to start it and "oh, you need to do it for X months for it to work"

Sounds like a scam, but people grasp straws.

I must admit, there is some very serious marketing happening with shockwave therapy aimed at specialists at the moment. I enquired about the Gainswave protocol 12 months ago and have been receiving emails from them and other sources and it is very money focused and constant. I have let them continue as I have wanted to see where this is all going.
Just recently I got one from what is called the Phoenix Pro Team. Here is excerpt from that email:

"Imagine the impact if you could increase the revenue of your practice 300% by implementing a simple 3-step process?
TONIGHT at 7:00 pm (EST), Jeff Bounds will be hosting a complimentary 45-minute webinar to share a proven step-by-step game plan that has helped physicians increase their medical practice revenue by 300% in six months or less..."

It then asks if your clinic has had any experience with shockwave therapy?!!

It is very concerning when specialists start thinking this way, especially with regard to a treatment that has not been approved by the FDA as yet.

I thought it was interesting that you mentioned you were seeing a lot of this being advertised in Phoenix in the US. I then receive more than 1 email from the above company, and I am in Sydney AU!

They really are hyping the "procedure" in Phoenix media.
I wonder how many desperate guys get hooked by it?

I think the „theory“ behind it is solid and there are some unaffiliated studies which show some success. Minor improvement, but just being able to use a not so high dose of pde5i would help me.

I am in a country in which it is quite cheap, I can get 10 sessions for 450€.

I thin I will try it, I think key is to do it constantly (e.g. 5 weeks and twice a week)

Around here the ads keep mentioning that the process increases blood flow. I think they are basically admitting that it works very poorly or not at all for ED. Seems like one of the more common ED causes is venous leakage. Even if you get increased inflow. The outflow (leak) keeps inceasing with time. Much like most of the other ED treatments. Pills & shots, the leakage eventually overcomes their effect.
In my mind, why deal with another temporary treatment. Any gains from it might take away from the length of time that pills work. For basically a no net gain of treatment time overall.
I've read of several members over on the implant forum. They all reported no help from the treament.

If you had your Prostate removed do not waste your time or money. Had 6 sessions did absolutely nothing for me.

The lack of any effective treatment for VL is quite honestly mind boggling.
Why is it so hard to remove/plug faulty veins? It's not like we're trying to grow a new organ.

3 years ago I had 6 sessions of shockwave treatment (= acoustic wave or gainswave). I paid 1500 euros for that (about 1800 USD). After first two session I felt some sensation inside my dick. I was very optimistic at that point. Before the treatment I always took sildenafil with an injection. After the 6 session I had sex one time without an injection. After two weeks everything gained with the treatment was gone.

During the sessions I felt that they could use more power with the machine. I don't know the numbers of the force they used but I am 100% sure that they could have used much more.

What I've read is that nowadays they might use a small amount on tadaldafil (Cialis) with the treatment. If somebody is going to this treatment you should ask about that.

One local medical center gives now the treatment with a price of 1800 euros per 6 sessions (20 min by a session). They say that they have given the treatment to 200 men and 90% of them are happy with the results. They also say that the results will appear 2 months after the sessions and it will last years.

The theory behind this treatment seems good. The treatment has been around almost 5 years and if it would be really good it would already be mainstream treatment at this point. So it seems that the procedure is still evolving.

I understand your feelings. Best description I've read is the the body views any fix as an injury. Thus promptly tries to fix it with different vein growth. Its difficult to fool the body in some cases. This appears to be a good example of that.
Whatever the reason. Just knowing that it didn't work for others is good enough for me.
