Greeting Gents! It took a long time to find a site like this. I've been looking for a long time.
I would like to tell my story and maybe I can get some feedback and help(guidance). I went into andropause in my mid to late 40's,(I'm now 59 y/o) getting night sweats among other symptoms just like some of your wives, girl friends, sisters and mothers. For the longest time it didn't click I never guessed what was going on. You would think I would know because I'm a physician I should know! But when it's yourself it's hard to see the forest through the trees. As you can guess the ED went right along with hormonal changes not to mention weight gain and mood changes. Lucky for me I had some understanding of these conditions but it didn't make it any easier.
Hormonal therapy(androgel) helped with certain symptoms but not the the ED. You need to have testosterone to function in a "manly way" but it doesn't cause erections.
Over the years I've been using Viagra, Cialis and levitra with varying amounts of success. I have found that I need to use a low dose levitra or cialis on a daily basis and then a full dose Viagra 100mg or Levitra 20 mg(ok but not as well as 100mg Viagra) Cialis 20 mg is worthless. Regardless, of the medication I can only maintain an erection in a prone position( or should I say lying down) If I stand I lose my erection??? Also if I have any prolonged foreplay I lose the erection and It takes time for it to return! Any feedback on these situations?
I also have side effects with the medication(any) headaches, general hangover-like feeling and of course a "stuffy nose". Here's another issue, the medication only seems to work effectively in the AM between 5:00 and 8:00 (remember when you got the early AM....naturally?)
I don't know how many of you guys had a similar experiences, it sounds as though many of you are PC survivors(in different ways) and peyronie's disease.
Thanks for letting me "vent" I would appreciate advise, feedback ,help or guidance. I'll have some questions in future posts
