I've been shaving down there for years.
It took a while to find the right razor. I use a Gillette triple blade disposable, which has very thin and flexible blades to conform to the surface. It's also open at the back which allows flushing the stubble out with a strong stream of water in the shower.
Also, CREMO shave cream works best for me. The ladies formulation with Aloe is best for sensitive areas, but is sometimes hard to find.
Here's the razor.

My wife is lucky, she has very little pubic hair, and none on her legs or underarms.
She plucks her pubes.
She offered to do mine, but it would take days, and doesn't sound all that fun to me.
