Just wondering if your wife/gf goes along with you on dr visits where ed is the primary discussion and/or treatment? My wife has insisted on being involved in my ed treatment every visit. She's told me that it is somewhat embarrassing for her to be sitting/watching another man (uro doc) holding my penis and giving me that injection.
My response was that she could do one of two things: 1. Stay home and wait (which she said "no" to immediately), or 2. ask the dr to show her how to give the injections, and get actively involved. I assured her that the doc knows that she's held it in her hands before....so why not? Make it a part of our new normal, and that I would much prefer that she held my dick in HER hands and gave me the shot, as compared to him.
She said she'd think about that....lol
So, what do you guys think? Is the dr's office 100% clinical, where we act like robots on a mission? Or, can we find yet another way to make lemonade out of lemons?
Okay, gotta run. Grandson is expecting me to pick him up in a few minutes. We're going to an antique tractor pull show nearby. Should be interesting.

Does your wife/gf go along on ED Dr visits?

My wife only went to the urologist with me when he wanted to do some testing.
I think it probally be OK for him to teach her how go give shots on a dummy penis. He would not let he give you a shot for testing purposes.
When I had my color doppler, and then a bladder scope, my wife asked if she could go back with me. The nurse told her politely NO. You don't want to see this anyway. During the prep the nurse had to handle my penis to clean it and then to put a pain killer in my urethra. She acted like it was no big deal.
IMHO your wife is not a doctor or medical professional. These doctors and nurses handle penis's every day. Let them do there job, then teach her how to give you injections if you go that route.
My 2 cents.

My wife went with me to my implant follow up. The surgeon had her pump me up. It was good practice for when we got home

Regarding Trimix injections, I've been injecting for seven years and I still get a miss every tenth time or so. Quite tricky. I don't see how a wife or girlfriend could do it right.
Age 79 in 2024. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 30 min.

Yeah, #2, if the doctor will go for it. He probably will if approached correctly. Make it lite and fun. She's already going in with you. I wouldn't even give your wife a chance to get stage fright. Just ask the doctor if he'll teach her how. I've found a lot of doctors (a lot based on my own limited experience) will lighten up if you break the ice and act friendly and lighthearted. Just don't threaten the superiority of their medical knowledge. If you do need to educate a doctor you need to be very tactful. But back to the original topic. Hell yeah, go for getting her involved. Make it fun!

You're lucky that your wife wants to be involved. Mine didn't want to know anything about it.

Neither does mine. In fact since implant she won't even touch it. From initial implant, to revision until now I have done everything alone. But I am happy and that's what ultimately matters the most. Enjoy...
Re: Does your wife/gf go along on ED Dr visits?
Twelve years ago my wife came to the men's clinic when I was prescribed Levitra.
She got really upset when I didn't run home to try it out the same day... I just need a bit of time to process taking a pill for my ED. Plus I was doubtful it would work.
The day when I took the pill I was amazed when I became erect without any sexual activity.
The pills more or less worked for 10 years.
Two years ago I finally decided to try Trimix. It took six months to get that appointment. At the time Covid restrictions prevented spouses from being in attendance.
Those restrictions have been lifted, she hasn't expressed any interest in going. But tell her the jest of what we (doctor and I) talk about and any treatment options.
I'm pretty sure that any woman who has a high interest in going to your appointments. Either knows you need the support. OR are frustrated because of the lack of sex your ED has caused.
