Viagra worked, now it stopped working...

The first time I tried Viagra 25, 50 mgs, I had the best erections ever. I could get it up whenever I wanted for 2 - 3 days at a time. I would use Viagra about 1 to 2 times a month. About a year and a half after I started using Viagra, it stopped working. So I increase the dosage on doctor advice to about 100 - 150, and this was hit or miss. Sometimes good erections, but often not...
I know this has been discussed before, but I would hope to perhaps start a thread where others can chime in with what their doctors have said about this problem. The reason is that my urologist is very tight-lipped. Trying to get an explanation is like trying to pull teeth out of him. He says one or two words and doesn't explain or tell me what he has heard in the medical literature. I will switch urologists in the future to get a second opinion, but for now...
1) Can anyone give some info on this topic as they have heard from their own urologists or doctors?
I found one article online that stated that some researches believe that the drugs might not work for some since perhaps the body reduces the receptors that respond to Viagra. Can the body really reduce receptors?
I exercise regularly, no diabetes or other medical conditions. I wake up in the morning with rock hard erections and I can get erections, just lose them right away without stimulation. I know perhaps it is an underlying condition, but I am only 35 and I don't think that I could have venous leak that got worse in one year....I want to know why my body has stopped responding to an amazing medication that worked great!
