How much of a difference does regular exercise make?

It really hit home the other day how little I move during the day.
My train is 1/2 a block from my apartment door. My workplace is 1 block from my downtown train station, and I rarely, if ever, walk more than a few hundred steps on weekdays to get lunch. My entire work day is me trapped behind a computer, sitting; and practically, my whole evening is sitting in a recliner, with a laptop over my legs.
Healthwise, I've been fighting low blood sugar for more than six months due to (what I believe to be) an over-prescription of diabetes medications; and my "low testosterone" gel doesn't seem to be working much, if at all.
Will getting up and getting active again help reverse some of the effects of the ED even a little bit?

Hi Grunter, Well exercise never hurt anybody, most of the time doing just simple things will help you, like in work if you have lift to get to your floor try using the stairs, when walking to the station, can you go another way, doing like a round trip and doing the same the other end, the again in the evening.
These are just 3 things that will help you, then at the weekend get out walking, brisk is best, if you can find some hills, then try walking them, if you have a swimming pool near by get in there, if there like our UK pools see if the have an early bird swim, you don't get so many people in there early, swimming and walking are two very good exercises you can do.
As for your diabetes is it 2, if so have you tried the diet way to control it, that way it saves your body dealing with drugs and insulin.
Now as for your ED I have got over mine by using herbs and a hormone, there are 3 posts here on site of mine, DRUGS VERSUS HERBS, HERBS MY CHOICE, and the same title, just add, DAILY INTAKE, and NOHARDS HERB LIST WITH LINKS, and NOHARDS HERBS FOR ED, PART 2, and you will see my name is now NOWHARD, it does work, it relies on our blood get that right then your half way there.
I do hope some of this helps you.
Good Luck

I see that you live in an apartment, but this may still be possible.
Would you consider getting a dog?
It will make you get out and walk him/her whether you want to or not.
I don't work, thank God, so I can walk 9 holes of golf several times a week, and my wife likes to get out and walk about 1 1/2 miles almost every day.
She takes the place of a dog lol.

diabetic retinopathy was tied to impaired blood flow within the central retinal artery in diabetes patients with coronary artery disease so keep your blood flow up and your glucose levels down.......impaired blood flow is not just limited to retinopathy.

Exercise is a highly recommended treatment for reducing blood glucose in diabetic patients by burning the excess glucose to support muscle energy. Exercise also promotes increased blood flow which helps flush out unneeded fat and plaque deposits. Many type 2 diabetics can significantly reduce or eliminate medications through controlling diet and regular exercise.
Remember, excess plaque and reduced blood flow is a major cause of ED.

Grunter....
I don't know what works for you, but if you like the kind of exercise that keeps you healthy, you are more likely to keep doing it.
For me, swimming is very pleasurable, hence I do it on a regular basis... the local high school here offers open swim/lap swim in the evenings and Saturdays. I try to get there at least 5 times a week... it takes me about 40 minutes to swim 1000 yards (my goal each time). Swimming is easier on the joints for this old man.
I am sure there are gyms with pools available too. (the school fees are a bit cheaper though)

My experience is that while regular exercise will improve your health over time, it is not a panacea for ED (although it does help it slightly). However, it should definitely help with your diabetes and I'd suggest you exercising more. In my experience, changing diet is more important for the treatment of ED. I am not a medical professional and these are just my opinions. Good luck.
