to shave or not

Hi first saw the forum last week, my first posts today. Saw the section on shaving and decided to shave myself. Had thick grey hair from shirt button down. Got rid of the lot.
used hair remover cream from shirt button down to just above penis and then shaving gel and razor on my penis and scrotum . Feels great just have a small patch of fuzz left just above my penis. Wife likes the look, feels cooler and sensual in our intimate relationships which dont include penetration as no erection. Pump next as pills dont work for me.
This is very personal decision but it grows back if you dont like it.

Shaving usually helps by creating a better seal for pumping. If you want to continue shaving, the Body Groomer by Norelco should be considered. It cost about $26, is battery powered, and can be used in the shower.

Look if the drugs don't work and your interested in finding out about herbs PM me, they worked for me, got me back in the saddle again.

Hi and thanks for your comments re my post, its quite liberating being able to talk about ED. it felt a little bit embarrassed posting about things of a personal nature but we are all rowing the same boat.

Phil,
Also don't be discouraged if you get some rash after the first few (dozen? hundred? in dunno how many) shaves ... eventually you won't get any rash -- unless maybe you have really really sensitive skin.
Even if I stopped shaving for a week or two and let it get good and stubbly it can bring a rash back at the first shave -- and that is after 5 years of constant shaving. So .. don't give up.
And also, having freshly shaved and smooth area is a great excuse for showing the missus and having her check out the smoothness .. they always love to check that out -- i guarantee it!

I am a week away from my annual urologist visit, 10 years post RP. The hangover affect of pills wears me down thus I will ask for a pump prescription, hoping insurance covers part of the cost. With the pump I will shave and am considering the Norelco shaver mentioned in this thread. Will this shaver cause ingrown hair?
Reasons and tips

I shave for several reasons. It's easier to get suction when I do therapeutic pumping. When I use a cock and ball ring, the hair doesn't get tangled in the ring. Lastly, my skin is more sensitive to touch with no hair in the way.
I daily use a Gillette Fusion razor in the shower. It takes only a few seconds and I rarely have nicks. After-shave cream helps reduce any itching from stubble I've missed. Hair conditioner works well as a shave cream and/or as an after-shave balm... rinsing it off, of course, after application.
Another thing that helps with getting a close shave is to shave against the grain, just like you would with your beard. Yes, your pubic/scrotal/shaft hair does tend to lay in one direction; you'll just have to look closely to figure that out for your own anatomy.

I have used the Norelco Body Groomer for a number of years and never experienced any ingrown hairs. I did, however, when using a safety razor.

Been shaving for at least 7 years, will never go back! I do pump occasionally, but mostly use penile rings for ED. Doesn't hurt that it makes it look a bit longer too
