If you go to the home page, there is an RSS feed that sends to us every article with any mention of ED in it. Take a look at it now and then. It changes all day long.

It was a bit of a startling read. Her first paragraph is wrong.

Not only was it the first time in history that erectile dysfunction (ED) was discussed in a public forum,

ED is rarely discussed publicly, and if it is, it is greeted with jeers by the late night comedians. Remember Bob Dole?

I sort of feel as if the author assumes everything is perfectly fine with men now. and note, she is only willing to use the 17% Total ED figure for men over 40. 52% over 40 have ED... but they don't matter?

I NEVER want to get into a us/them mindset with these people - OR with women, but it seems as if the slant of this story is just a bit skewed.

The article gets a few other things wrong, too. The author seems to think that everyone is ignorant about post-menopausal, vaginal dryness. As if there are more Viagra commercials than KY commercials! She does seem to have an axe to grind, but reading the comments already posted to her blog, a few others have noticed that, too.

Unfortunately, no one has yet asked her to provide footnoting to the scientific and medical abstracts she used for her statistics!

I think she is bringing up some wifely issues that we do not always take into proper account when we are trying to improve our performance. I was aware that wetness would become an issue when we got older and, accordingly, have stocked up on the necessary lube to be used when necessary. However, I do recall my wife mentioning several weeks ago that since I started to improve my performance and upped the frequency of intercourse, that she was having a bit of trouble keeping up with my renewed ardor. I now intentionally slip in a few "break" days between encounters.

Perhaps, she went a bit over board with her comments; however, her point should at least be acknowledged.

There seems to be a lot in the literature that suggests that every post menopausal woman, esp those not taking hormones, should be utilizing some form of vaginal moisturization whether or not she is having sex or plans to. "Replens" is the brand recommended to my wifey some years ago by her doctor. She uses that about twice a week I think and we use Astroglide as well for our fun times.
