Hey Y'All - again.

I posted the following in my "hello" posting but reailize that I would get more replies from here:

I'm just another new ol'guy around here. You might have seen "tukusmax" popping up (a wishful pun) around here. I've been sneaking & peeking, getting a feel for what's going on around here.

I'm 63yr., a Vietnam vet and just received 80% rating for Diabetes II, Coronary Heart and PTSD with a special monthly compensation for ED. The diabetes was diagnosed about 15 yr. ago, ED problems started about 8 yr. ago. The Dr. put me on Viagra and it did what it was made to do but the side effects (blue vision, difficult breathing) were not worth it. I had a swarm of heart attacks about 6 yr. ago and the Dr. threw away the Viagra away because of the possibility that I may need to take Nitro. for chest pain, Nitro. and Viagra don't play well together. So much for pills.

Tried the pump, I had to use the smallest constriction ring to maintain the pumped up eriction and that hurt and caused a severe hinge effect, plus my wife hated the cold temperature.

I guess the next on the list would be injections. The injection web sites say not to use with Plavix (blood thinner). So it looks like that's out.

That leaves IPPs, which sounds like the best bet. Now to get the VA to go along with it. I see my VA PC Dr. tomorrow for a 6 month check and will be asking for a referral to a Urologist, to pursue this. I'm new to the VA game so I'm not sure how this all works.

So, there's my story. I would like any and all input re: the VA or anything else I listed above, or anything else in general. I think I'm going to really pleased that I found this forum,

Thanks Y'All!

I read your other post. Dick recomended that you look into the possiblilty of MUSE. It was not successful for me but it is a possiblilty for you. Good luck with the IPP. I have heard that the VA does cover that in come cases. Best of luck to keep us posted.

Can't help with VA stuff, but I read somewhere that the VA would cover. I had an implant on 03/11/2011 and the recovery
is not bad, still sore but that is expected. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I saw the VA Dr. today and he agreed with me that I don't need to try anything else and that I should just go with what works best, an inflatable implant. Yea! No more "dicking around" (another intended pun) with it. He is setting up the appointment with an Urologist. The first step went smoothly, let's hope the rest works out.

Thanks for the feed back y’all. General, in a weird kinda way I’m looking forward to the recovery pain ‘cause when it’s gone I can get back to where my wife and I used to was (just a bit older).

Hey, Tuk.... if you're getting an implant, there's plenty of support here! Welcome to FT.
