Hi David Cock rings add erections in the way of, if you was getting semi hard penis the a ring should take you all the way to a good erection.
With a pump you are drawing blood into the penis till its erect you then lock that in and should maintain an erection if its working right and good enough for sex, if by that time the wife still wants it.
