Remission - Confused

Can anyone offer a definition of remission in the prostate cancer world ?
I have had Lupton and casadex for 28 months; plus 45 radiation treatments. My ending PS A was .04. Removed from all treatments 9 months ago and PSA has steadily risen from .04 to its current .74.
I am told that I am in remission; however, if the PS A continues to rise, is this truly the case ?
Can't get a straight answer from oncologist, but if the PSA is rising, is truly the case ?????

Hi NH: I can't answer your question, but there are some very good cancer forums out there who I'm sure can help you. When I got PC in 2012 I spent a lot of time at one of them, and I think it might have been this one. I see your post is two weeks old, maybe you've found some answers by now.

After I got through surgery, off the pads, etc. and started wondering about erections, someone there directed me to this site. So I'm referring you back to a cancer forum, which will be better suited to answer your questions than FT.

Good luck to you, cancer sucks. As of my last PSA test in March, I'm doing fine, cancer-wise.

Hi NH, Why not ask your doctor or uro for a DRE, yes the finger, from this they should able to tell if its shrinking back if you had this done be either, it depends where you read about PSA tests on just how dependable they are, I know from reading that the UK's NHS does not trust them, as a few can get past the test.
