Anyone out there taking Trental (or the generic) for Peyronies? My uro put me on it (3x daily) about a month ago. Not sure I can tell a difference yet - I can feel the fibrosis/plaque near the base of the shaft. I think it's supposed to take a while for it to do any good. Just wondering if anyone else is on it and how it's working???? Rick

I have been on it for not quite two years. My understanding is that it changes the shape of red blood cells, allowing them to more easily flow through capillaries. I can't say that because of taking this medication alone that I feel better in any way. I have not experienced any of the side effects (upset stomach) that others sometimes report. I put it in the category of it "may" help, does not give me any side effects, is cheap, therefore, it is probably a good medication to take as part of an overall treatment or penis rehab program. My urologist - Larry Lipshultz (Baylor, Houston) - prescribes it as part of his "triple therapy;" 25 mg nightly Viagra, pentoxyfilline (Trental), and L-Arginine.

I personally would try to avoid the surgery. I had surgery. The surgeons coax
Willie to a hard on on the operating table and straighten him out. I awoke
With stitches down both sides of the shaft, decreased length and noticeable
lack of sensitivity in penis head. I also felt tight and constricted in head
Area during organism, it even frightened me...I was only offered vitamin
E to fix things prior to surgery (2005)....surgery is humbling, my bending
Was getting too severe. I asked the anastasia guy how the hard on
Would be achieved during surgery. He said it was very surprising
How easily a male could achieve erection under anastasia?!
