Beginning Tests?

I am wondering if anyone has had situations like mine. I'm 74 and have had ED problems the last 10 years or so. At first herbal stuff worked some and then through increasing doses of Viagra and Cialis worked and then failed. So urologist prescribed low dose Trimix. Then a stronger script (papa 30mg, phen .2mg, alp 10mcg/ml. Then increase to 30,1 10). Each worked and then declined, with the last at 70 units.
In all this time there has been no test to determine cause of ED. Is this because of my age or has older men out there has the same response form doctors?
I did schedule an appointment with another urologist who lists ED among her specialties. A couple days before it the office called and said she was unavailable since she had to be in surgery that morning, and set me up with a PA of another doctor. I asked him about tests such as vienous leakage and he just shook his head and said that wasn't the problem. That was about it and he prescribed pge 80mcg, phen 3mg, and papa 25mg/ml. That is the stronges script the pharmacy provides.
So, what are some of your other experiences?
Thank you all.
