Using a VED, urine leakage, showering . . .

I got a Vacurect a few days ago, after a good bit of research on the topic. It seems to work well and is very simple to use. Two questions:

- I am 7 months post-prostate surgery, and still have some minor dripping/spotting incontinence issues, although I haven't needed pads in several months. When I use the VED it always sucks urine out of me even though I always void immediately beforehand. I did a web search and did not find anything about it -- is this common? Will it go away eventually? Does it hurt me in any way? I do NOT want to reverse any improvement in continence. Being 62 with no woman in my life, and not all that much interested anymore, continence is probably at least as important to me than is impotence.

- I read a post in this forum somewhere where the guy bought a cheap sex shop VED for use while showering. I like this idea because I don't have to stop what I'm doing and pump the old boy up; I can multi-task with it in the shower. I've searched online and have seen the cheap ones starting at around twelve bucks, but I wouldn't buy one that cheap. Any recommendations?

LeLove makes a quality product (2" cylinder plus hand pump with a vacuum gauge) which lists for $52 plus shipping. You can usually get it for less on Amazon, but it is currently out of stock.

I put together a quality and very comfortable package using a VelSeal cylinder including a thick silicone base cushion/seal ($95) coupled with a Harbor Freight vacuum brass brake bleeder kit with a vacuume gauge ( $17 with coupon in an auto magazine). I had to get a compatable male connector ($4 including shipping) from McMaster and Carr. It is extremely comfortable and I have been using it for over two years, including in the shower.

Hey Vette man: What do you have? I had a '72 "in an earlier life." It was a POS so I dumped it, but at least I reached my life-long dream of owning one.

Any comments on the urine leakage? FWIW, I've noticed it has gotten a lot less in the week since I started using the VED.

Buy the Fireman's Friend pump - usually around 20.00. It almost all plastic so nothing really rusts. it will last about 6 months - or until you drop it. Pay attention, don't overpump. Let it hang there while you wash up.
Soap up penis, insert it, pump it up. wash up some...relese air, pump up more....wash up more...release, pump up more. Do this several times. Then last time pump it fully, and as you wash, keeping adding a couple pumps as blood seeps in. It's painless and fun. and You step out of the shower ....look in the mirror...and say hi to your old friend. Also a good time to masturbate for therapy.

I also have a bonro vacurect pump which I use in the shower. Out of all the pumps I've used, it the lightest and gives me the ability to go about the house
doing other stuff while I pump. Its all plastic so nothing will get damaged if it gets wet. If you have any questions about pumping feel free to ask me.

Hmm. The directions say to not submerse or fill it with water as it will damage the O-rings, which I found a bit dubious. So for that reason I have not used it in the shower.

How long have you been using it in the shower, and is it still working ok?

They do not recommend pumping while the pump is submerged in water which could cause the rings to reposition themselves due to the pressure build up. Its OK if you are showering and have the pump attached to you. I do it all the time and never had a problem. Nick

I did buy the recommended lube when I bought the pump.
