First time VED user - dumb question

Postby SLKA317 » Thu Mar 14, 2024 3:56 pm

Gents,

I purchased a seemingly good quality electric pump to give VED a whirl. Tried it out this weekend and it seems to work mechanically just fine. However, I could not create a tight seal around the base of my penis to create suction. (It worked fine on inside forearm, so I know it works). Lots of public hair down there. Do I need a good shave for this to create a proper seal and have this device work as intended?

Hope this isn't a stupid question...

No stupid questions, just one that isn't answered. My little knowledge of pumps did see better results with either some lube to seal the area or trim the hair. The short time I used the VED hair was trimmed short and always lubed the hole.

Like Old Guy, I found it was better to achieve a good seal if I was well trimmed.

If you're fairly hairy you do not need to shave but you will need to trim. Yes lube is a good idea to help get a seal. IMHO, lube is absolutely necessary for use to keep from ripping your skin as the VED starts creating an erection. Lube the inside of the cylinder well.

If you plan to use the VED with silicone constriction rings then some closer trimming will be necessary anywhere they might come in contact with hair. Unless you just want to let the silicone rings do the trimming by slowly ripping hair out. Again, shaving is not necessary in any case but appropriate trimming is and in some instances fairly close trimming.

I use an electric manscaper to mow my bush to a managable level and shave the base of my dick and my sack. I don't like the totally shaved prepubescent look and the wife hasn't requested it. She does like trimmed with sack and dick base shaved so that's what she gets. Of course I diverged from a simple answer to your question. No need to shave. Yes trim where appropriate for what you're doing. If you actually shave it's for entertainment purposes and not need.

Good luck, and if we can hear the screams from here then we'll know you didn't trim enough.

Look up body shield on google .. it's a flat silicone ring that goes over the penis to the base gives the pump something ot seal on and helps keep your testicles from being sucked into the pump which is painful.

I also a flat latex ring which I think is the one "oldguy" was referring to. Link is: https://www.vitalitymedical.com/encore- ... 2pack.html
I also trim close and have no trouble getting a seal. The only other thing I do is move the shield from behind the ring/s to in front of the ring/s, after they have been applied, and I remove the pump - my wife does not like the feel of the rings but she's ok with the shield. You still have to be careful to make sure that your testicles are out of the way when pumping so they don't get sucked in.

Sounds like some "manscaping" would help.

I use one of these for other reasons. I can see where it may help with your problem.

Great tips guys! I knew I needed to do something additional to create the seal. (And not scream like one). Appreciate it

I bought this trimmer on Amazon for $39 and it works great for manscaping, no knicks at all with no guards: BRIGHTMAN Body Hair Trimmer for Men. check it an the revues out. Much cheaper than the brand Manscaping brand.
