If you can't use commen sense I don't know what to say to you. I guess you need to live in a world closely controlled by agncies telling you exactly how and when to do everything. I've gone overboard and given myself some edema. I knew I was pushing it. Shame on me! But yeah, I believe if you follow recomendations you'll be fine.
I have no negativity about having a gauge. As long as it doesn' make the VED more cumbersom it could prove useful. Get one if you want. I've no doubt I could put one on my pump. The cylinder is fairly thick. I might could just drill and tap it and screw in on with a hick rubber washer. Or if necessary put a nut on both sides along with a thicker contoured washer on both sides made from rubber stoppers. Several fairly easy and cheap ways to do it, but why bother.
