Medical grade pump vs non-medical

Thanks all, appreciate all the detailed answers.
Re: Medical grade pump vs non-medical
I got a cheapy pump on Amazon for about $15. It has a little pressure gauge built in although I have no idea how accurate the gauge is.
I just pump until I can feel the stretch and it’s right in the edge of uncomfortable. I hold it for about a minute, then release, pause for a few seconds, then pump and release. I do this for 10-15 minutes.
My reason for using it is to maintain size as I expect I’m not having as many (or as strong) nocturnal erections.
If I were using it to get an erection for sex I would get a medical grade one with the corresponding tension rings.
But just for a morning stretch the cheap one works fine.

55yo, NYC. ED started at 40. 50 units BiMix + Atropine (Pap 30/Phen 6/Atr 0.2). Prostaglandins caused aching. Doses increasing. A cock ring helps. Phallosan Forte tension devise to maintain size. Eager to talk about implant experiences.

I use a brass brake bleeder pump with vacuum gauge ($26 from Harbor Freight) combined with a LeLuv cylinder ($30 ) for therapy and enhancement, but not very good for maintaining an erection. For that, I use a Soma medical grade system (about $200) and Osbon tension bands ($18 each). I also have an ImpoAid system ($139) which works well, but not as convenient to use as the Soma.

I happened to stumble across another "men's sexual issues" site and I was amazed at the bad time
all the guys who did not have gauges on their VED pumps were getting. According to that site, you
are gonna explode your penis for sure if you do not have a gauge on your penis pump, no if's and's
or or's, you are gonna explode your penis or do serious damage. I use the Encore system, I have been
using it for about 6 months. I like how it works and I like what it does, AND I DO NOT HAVE A GAUGE,
but I do know how my penis feels and I do know when it's time to stop pumping. A gauge with a number
is really not gonna tell my penis how it feels, but i know how it feels. I pump slowly and carefully until
I get the results I want and I keep my penis at that point and then release. I don't know if a gauge would
really make a difference. However, I do understand that other site is also more about penis enlargement
than it is penis exercise or rehab and maybe that is the reason for the big issue with gauges on pumps.
Anyone have any comments on their penis exploding without a gauge on their penis pump???

Re: Medical grade pump vs non-medical
I’ve spent a lot of time on penis enhancement/enlargement sites but have yet to read about an exploding penis. Blisters, yes. Excess edema/donut yes. Discoloration, yes To avoid the above, it is recommended to limit vacuum to 5 hg and time under vacuum to 20 minutes. Without a gauge, you should pump up until you feel slight discomfort and then back off slightly. I occasionally pump up to 4 hg for 45 minutes without any issues.
The safest way to pump is with a gauge; however, as long as you don’t get tempted to exceed your comfort level you should be ok.
