Radiotherapy for PC 2016 left me with ED. Viagra not good enough on its own so experimented with VED, result biggest hard-on and staying power. My wife loves it and can't get enough, happy days again!

Hi AnotherOldMan,
Yes I get a full usable erection with viagra and sex shop pump - I do need to use a fairly tight ring to keep the erection during sex, this fits over the pump cylinder base and slides off onto the penis when fully pumped before releasing vaccuum and sliding the pump off.
Was that what you were asking about?

Yes. I have experimented with a few of the cheaper pumps and have always had difficulty sliding the ring off over the pronounced lip without losing the vacuum.

Good point, and something people would need to check before buying - fortunately I bought a pump without the lip so it's easy to slide the ring off whilst maintaining vacuum.

I use an Encore Deluxe (has both manual and battery pumps) and Osbon rings for sex.
The trick for me, at least, was practicing by myself and finding rings that worked best.

Most cheap sex store pumps also found on Ebay will do for exercising.

That's the key question. My ED isn't too severe, so I just use a cheap sex toy one (like the "Fireman") for circulation therapy. In that case, it's used very differently. It can even be therapeutic to get a boner and then put it in a pump for sustaining--versus creating--an erection.

Also, a pump is often prescribed after a prostatectomy (to encourage erectile function that's lost temporarily or permanently) and/or before implant surgery to maximize penis size before measuring the appropriate model and size of implant.
60's. Married. Occasional ED offset by a variety of methods (VED pumping, foreskin restoration, edging) with Cialis and/or pills sometimes for sex.

For me, I planned on following the advice of my doctor and using a Vacuum Erection Device VED for penile rehab only. I read as many articles and reviews as I could on penis pumps for penile rehab after prostate removal surgery. Its use would be for keeping as much blood flow into my penis as possible keeping it as healthy as possible until I returned to getting natural erections again. I decided on the VACURECT. Sold by Bonro Medical, I purchased it on Ebay. It was one of the more expensive VEDs at $250. But it did get very positive reviews.

So far its been doing a very good job. Very easy to use, simple and compact. Comes with various size constriction rings, so I was able to find just the right size for me. Comes with lube, and a carry case too. It does need to be oiled once and a while to keep the vacuum seal working best, but it's not a big deal keeping it cleaned and oiled up.

I use it three of four times a week. It took me awhile to learn how it works best. It works best to start slow and pump myself up slowly. Pump for 5 or 10 seconds or until I am half erect, then releasing the vacuum and waiting 30 seconds or so before I start pumping again. the key is each time releasing the pressure and letting my "pumped erection" subside for a brief time. I do this five or six times. Then once my penis is becoming more and more engorged, I will pump a bit harder gaining lenght and girth each time. I do this several times releasing the pressure each time and letting myself go soft. Eventually I can pump myself up to get an erection similar to my natural erection and hold it for a longer time. Yes ........... it did take some time to learn what worked best.

The only thing I would comment on is "my pumped erection" isn't very natural looking. The head of my cock gets very engorged, not natural looking. The veins that run along both side of my shaft get extremely engorged, again not what my natural erection looked like. My entire shaft and head gets red and not at all like my "before" erection looked like. And most disappointing is that my natural erection ( before my surgery ) used to have a pronounced "U" curve and stood upward at a 45 degree angle. Pumped ........ there is no curve and it hangs downward.

The only thing that I would say about it's design is that once I am pumped, afterwards when I am finished using it, it is difficult to remove the ring.

I have nothing to compare it to, but I guess I would rate it 5 stars for giving me my hard on again, even if it's not natural.

OH ................. one last thing. When I stop pumping and remove the device even with the constriction ring still on, I lose my firmness almost right away. I am still large, but the firmness goes away quickly.

Using ANY VED is going to cause that "hinge effect" where you erection is soft at the point between the ring and your body (pubis)... This is because your erection is only AHEAD of the tension ring and there is no blood causing the "hidden" part of your penis, inside your body, to become erect. I initially thought this was a major turn off but got use to it. YES, the color is not what it used to be before, yes it is quite "veinier" and YES the head of my cock gets very engored. But I have a cock that I am able to actually use!!!

IF you find that you lose your erection immediately after taking off the pump, then you are NOT using a tight enough ring with a small enough hole) The larger holes are good for rehabbing.....pumping up to stretch you penile tissues to maintain girth and length. But if you want to hold an erection, you must use one of the smaller diameter rings. Work you way down one by one...from the largest to decreasingly smaller holes till you find the one that works. YES...you will wonder how you will be able to get your cock into such a small hole!!!! The first time I got to that point, I was VERY impressed and happy ...and then PANICKED as I tried to get the ring off!!! It took a few minutes, lots of lube, and in the end I vowed I would never use it again! I then did a lot of research and found videos that showed the best way to remove it.... you have to take your cock in both fists and VERY slowly, squeeze the blood out of your erection. It sounds radical and painful but it is NOT! I have been using it like this for over a year for both jerking off and intercourse. I have even gone DOWN a size to a ring with a smaller hole to allow for a firmer hard-on that does not need repumping to retain hardness.

End result...research, read, experiment

I use one of these foam sleeves. If there is a "hinge effect" with one of these, it is so slight I don't notice. https://uandmetime.com/products/store/# ... ct=4958534
Without the sleeve some of my fat pad gets drawn into the cylinder and the rings are placed behind. That served to reduce notable hinge.

I use 2 Osbon rings. As far as size, it doesn't seem to matter a great deal which 2 when I use them with the sleeve.

Lube is my friend! Before, during, and after sex, copious amounts of lube help things go smoother for both of us..
