When using a vaccum pump, does it matter if you go in the cylinder/tube erect or limp.....which is safer and better overall? What are the effects of both? (one versus the other)

If I were already hard I would just put a cock ring on and go from there.

Most of us on FT go in soft because we don’t have a choice. However, if you are capable of going in hard, you need to be careful in order to not exceeding safe levels of vacuum.

Soft dicks tend to expand a lot which mitigates the effects of the vacuum. There is not too much give in a hard dick.

I'm starting to realize that most of my ED is psychological (from tons of porn) so I can get hard, just have performance anxiety with a female. With that being said, I use the pump for penis health and also maybe a little bit of enhancement (I've read this works) so I was wondering if it worked better going in hard or soft.....

If you are pumping for enhancement, the consensus on the penis enhancement sites is that it is best to go in hard. However, as I mentioned previously, going in hard requires that you be more cautious. If you are already hard, your penis tissues are already expanded close to the max so by Introducing a vacuum to increase the expansion you are at risk of subjecting your dick to “over expansion.”

Accordingly, you should be using a pumping system with a vacuum gauge so you can limit the vacuum to a maximum of 5 inches of mercury (5 hg).
