New to the pump forum, been injecting for 2 years, looking for any advice or recommendations from seasoned pumpers on the best pump for daily maintenance and also one for maintaining an erection for intercourse? I have little pump experience, and a fast approaching Uro appt, I have lost my nocturnal erections over last 2 years, am looking for something practical with ease of use and comfort for a Girthy boner, when fully erect my girth is about 6 75 inches, flaccid I am below average and shrinking up from lack of nocturnal

Hi, I have used the Soma pump unit for over 3 years, i find it very easy to use and good quality, you have large girth so you would need the XL cyilnder from the Soma range, i also use thier cock rings for holding your errection after pumping session

Thanks, I would really like to have an alternative to injections for sexual intercourse and am hoping that I can find a pump that enables me to do so, I joined FT, like 3 months ago and havent strayed from the injection forum, so forgive me for not having the time to research pumps yet, I'm sure these topics have been covered in old posts
Do these lever pumps and bulb pumps feel different than the ones that are battery powered?

The manual pumps you have more control of them.

I have used Soma pumps for ten years. The first was a manual pump, but I broke the lever after five years or so and replaced the manual with a battery operated one. I find the battery model easier and more convenient to use. I find I have just as much control with the battery model as it builds up vacuum quite slowly.

I use both the battery and manual pumps. The one difference is when I use the manual pump I pump to the desired "inflation" then add the rings. With the battery pump vacuum is still being added to the cylinder when I add the rings. When using the manual I pump to max, hold, then deflate and repeat. The 3rd time I pump to max I add the rings. On occasion I swap the battery pump for the manual on the 3rd time.
I never really noted any difference in size or firmness using either method. The last 6 months or so I have followed Bldoink's advice and take a 25 mg Viagra and hour or so before sex. While this dose is too low to have much effect on my aging body, it seems to be under my threshold for the amount that side effects happen. Pumping is easier when I do this.
Everyone is different so I would advise practicing different methods by yourself until you find one you like for the main event. I use the Encore pump which comes with manual and battery pumps. I have had varying degrees of success with different brands of rings. Using 2 Osbon rings seems to be the best for me at this stage.

Is finding bands that are the right fit, more difficult than finding a pump that is to your liking, on average?
Figure I may as well start the questions with this experienced panel of experts, geronimo, d warren, and another old man!

From what I see and read I think some pumps can only be used with rings designed for that particular pump.
Given the cost of the medical grade pumps I would think it can be an expensive undertaking to experiment with different brands.
I went through a bunch of different brands and sizes of rings, including the ones that come with my Encore. Based on recommendations here on Franktalk I started using/experimenting with Osbon rings. For me they are the best I have used and seem to hold up much longer than any others I have used. I use a silicone lube for sex and the Osbons have still held up for years.

My Soma pump came with several tension bands, but I found the Osbon bands to be superior. My base girth is about 5.5” and originally found the medium, standard tension to work well.
