Would appreciate advice regarding the strictness of the 30 minute rule with respect to wearing a ring. Has anyone gone to for, example 40 minutes, without any adverse consequences? Sorry if this has been asked before, I am new to VED use.

If you're talking about medical grade constriction rings used in conjunction with a VED where the ring is the sole method of retaining the erection and the erection is totally dependent on the ring to maintain the erection then well yes but rarely. Under the circumstances described above, yes I've gone a bit over 30 minutes and if I caused damage I haven't noticed it but that doesn't mean there wasn't any. However anything over 20 minutes isn't really comfortable and for me isn't worthwhile. Don't exceed the 30 minute rule. There's a reason for it.
I use novelty/sex shop cock rings in conjunction with injections all of the time and greatly exceed 30 minutes with no known issues. Of course these aren't near as tight as the rings I require with the VED alone or with pills. With the novelty/sex shop rings I use I do get some blood exchange.

Thanks Bldoiink, I should have mentioned that I first inflate my implant, so the ring would just be for the purpose of engorging the glans and adding a bit of length and girth.
So, no, it isn't the sole means of maintaining my erection and maybe it's comparable to using a ring with injections, as you do. So maybe I could go a bit longer than 30 (?)

I'm sorry, rings with implants are outside any knowledge or experience I have. I have nothing to offer. I obviously should have read your signature.
Good luck.

It depends on the tension of the band. If you are using a tight Osbon tension band, the 20 minute rule should apply. However, if you are using a “stretchy” type band, the time under tension can be increased significantly.
