During my tele-visit with Dr. Hakky he told me to buy a penis pump but did not give me any instruction on when to use it,because he didn't tell me what to do with it I assumed it was for post-op use,I now know that I was wrong. from reading this forum I know that Hakky suggests using it for 3-4 weeks prior to surgery. So my questions are with only 11 days left until surgery should I bother doing it and has anyone on this forum had implant surgery without using a penis pump. I don't want to reschedule my surgery as it has been rescheduled twice already and my schedule really doesn't allow for another delay but if it is truly significantly beneficial I will do what I have to do. I texted Hakky and asked him what I should do but he did not respond (yet).
Benefits from using a VED prior to surgery are greatest early-on and get less and less as the patient continues. BIG gains early and diminishing gains as time goes on. So, by all means, start vacuuming your penis. A protocol of 60 days is usually mentioned in the medical literature. I continued mine for 14 months while I searched for authorization for the operation and to find a surgeon I trusted to do the job.
The protocol I favor is twice a day, apply vacuum to full erection and maintain that for 30 seconds, then release the vacuum to full flaccid (about another 20 seconds) and repeat that cycle for 30 minutes. Twice a day. If I were you, I might do it for 40 minutes and three times a day.
BE SURE not to overdo the amount of vacuum! If you induce edema, you will have to lay off the process until it goes down. If you tear tissue, you might compromise your entire situation. So, apply only enough vacuum to get your penis to full size or maybe a half-inch more that your pre-ED erection.
