Can a VED cause issues with climaxing?

I've been pumping off and on for years without much real thought to it. I usually do a -5 to -10 on the meter for anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes at a time.
I'm curious to know if this could be causing my issues with not being able to cum? Is it possible that the tube could be pressing on nerves that control the ability to cum? I haven't felt any numbness in my penis, just can't get to the point of release.
If I leave the pumping alone for a few days then I can slowly get back to normal. Has anyone else experienced this.
I've got an appointment with my PCP to get a referral to a urologist to see if there is something else going on. I'm wanting to pump more frequently as I'm considering getting an implant and I want to make a much room as I can in my penis.
Thank you.
