For those few who posted to my Help! post, I have an update. Please review and kindly offer any sage advice if you can. I appreciate it. This is a great forum that seems to have too few participants.

So, after my bad night, I called a VED supplier. He said the problem may have been a tension band may have stretched; sure enough, he was right as I noticed it was almost split in two - talk about bad timing. I have ordered some more.

Today, I returned to the injection clinic, after a two year hiatus. He said I was given some strong dosages in the past. I told him I am not sure I was injecting properly. He gave me a dose in the office today. After 10 minutes, I definitely had an erection, but probably not rigid enough for intercourse. He thinks he felt some resistance on injecting and thinks I have scar tissue near the base. He said it is doubtful injections will work due to the scar tissue and decreased blood flow. He said to massage the penis every day and come back in a month for one last try. He said the medicine doesn't work for some men.
However, I had very considerable pain after the injection - not from the needle stick, just from the medicine. Really bad pain until the erection subsided. He said they sometimes mix lidocaine with the medicine to reduce the pain. I would not be able to endure this pain, even it turned my penis into a steel rod.
I also told him I was using a vacuum pump. He frowned on this and said to be careful as too much pressure can damage blood vessels. I don't think this is an issue with me.
He also was not an advocate of implants saying he had seen many men come in with lingering issues from the implant.

So, I think I am back to the pump and will try to improve it's effective use as I try to get my love life back.

Did you say what kind of pump you were using? I've used a Encore battery powered on for 4 years now -- still going strong although having to tape down the lid and had to resolder a power wire once. But that's a lotta batteries over the years, even if they might last for a month -- so maybe consider the manual one (but they also make a combo kit with both).

I had souped it up with a larger tube also after outgrowing the original after 6 months -- nice problem yes?

As mentioned many times here, Osbon rings are the only way to go -- do not use the silicone rings that come with most pumps -- well you can use em until they stretch out and break - which is just a matter of weeks or months. I have had some osbon rings going for 2+ years now with no visible wear. They are a little pricey at around $17 each but worth it.

Plus take a look at the Penile Foam sleeve (over in the articles section of this board). They really work, but again are not cheap so you better be serious about long term pumping. They certainly add to comfort by cushioning the SNAP of the ring.

With all that said, I don't actually use the pumped P for intercoursal use -- only for rehabbing and of course getting that extra girth for later use with PGE-1 or Trimix injections.

I have had great success with the Agusta Medical manual pump and Osbon band. If you have insurance coverage, the medical grade pump is the way to go. If no insurance, they offer a similar non prescription model for about $100.

It takes me less than 2 minutes to set up the pump and force on the tension band (I usually set it up ahead of time if I can) and less than a minute to pump up my erection and "snap" on the band. My dick does not remain under vacuum long enough to cause any damage and I don't believe the pump allows you to pump up to a dangerous level unless you make a special effort.

However, the tight constriction causes my dick to start to loose sensitivity after ten minutes and needs to be removed after twenty minutes to avoid possible damage. However, if you periodically kegel in additional fresh blood, the above limits can be stretched a bit to say 15 minutes and 30 minutes, respectively.

I am using an Encore manual pump by Augusta Systems. It works very well and is well made. I bought a cadillac battery powered pump from Paul here and it is somewhat easier to use. I am getting familiar with it. I am not sure it builds up as much pressure as the manual but I am still trying it out. It is very well made.
